Default Phone added all number AND email contacts. Any way to remove emails?

I synced up my Note 2 with all my Google contacts, but the problem now is that all the people that have ever contacted me (including spam emailers) are showing up in my phone.

I've been able to customize it so that I could filter out only contacts with numbers in the contacts app, but I can't figure out how to get rid of the junk email addresses whenever I try skim my address book in the messaging app. Any advice?

Welcome to Android Forums. I moved your question where it will get better exposure.

If you log into Gmail on your laptop/pc/mac and go to Settings, under 'General' there's a section called 'Create contacts for auto-complete'. If you have 'When I send a message to a new person, add them to Other Contacts so that I can auto-complete to them next time' checked, try changing it to 'I'll add contacts myself'.

I'm not sure if this will do the trick, especially if you're seeing addresses that have sent you mail (rather than vice versa) but it's worth a try.

Don't think that worked.

I suppose what I want to know is, is there any way to sync up ONLY the contacts I set up in My Contacts and not all those other junk email addresses in Other Contacts? Also, how can I update my Gmail My Contacts with numbers I've added on my phone manually?

Thanks!
