Default static noise in calls

Hi all,

Ive just got a new note 2 (not rooted) and when im in a call it makes a static noise, like the noise you hear through speakers when you're about to get a call bip ba da bip ba da bip ba da beeeeeeeeeep. it does this for the whole time im in a call and the other person can hear it too. Its not really loud but its annoying.

Ive turned everything off i can find 3g, wifi, nfc etc but it still happens.

Is my phone defective or do they all do this?
Thanks

edit: ok it seems to be caused by gsm is there a fix for this?

Default Loud Staic Noise during calls...

I had the same problem with my Note 2 as well. I could surf the web and text wihout any problems but each time i tried to make or rcv a call there was this loud static noise.

I tried reseting the phone and taking out the battery but neither was successful,so i just took it back to the sprint store. They tried fixing it but couldnt.

In conclusion, They had to order me a new phone.

My Note 2 had the same problem. Mine would act like the speakers were blown, when I talked on the phone, when it played a ringtone, or a video. for some reason, It made me think that it was trying to cancel background noise, so I disabled the call privacy filter in the talk settings menu. For whatever reason, that made my phone sound a LOT better. No more static, crackles or pops... It was like owning a different phone.

Left handed guitarist indeed. I'm on Sprint, so my setup may be different. I click on the phone icon, that brings up the dialpad, hit the menu, hit call settings. voice privacy is the last thing on the options screen.

I hope that works for you.

It might be called something different on your phone, like maybe "noise blocking", "wind blocking..". It's basically a background noise canceling option. Hope that helps you find it.
