Default please help galaxy note 2 fm problem

purchased galaxy note 2 and was shocked to find that the fm radio as advertised by samsung is not stereo fm radio but it is mono.Tested it with various head phones but output was mono.Incidentally found out that galaxy s3 also has mono fm radio not stereo.Strange that such expensive phones are missing fm stereo, shame on samsung.
Is there any solution or do you think future firmware updates will fix the problem or is it a hardware limitation?Any comments?

I have to head out in a minute, but wanted to jump in quick and mention the old "mono to stereo splitter" that used to be around for output jacks. As I recall it was made for PCs but worked on some hand held devices.

I'll do a search when I return in a few hours (feel free to do that yourself and report your findings).

Mine plays mono too, I think it doesn't have a stereo decoder.

Some people like the radio, others don't have solid reception but still want to listen to music,...

I'd like to have FM on my device. Its free music without using a data connection.

I realize there are a plethora of apps out there for music, but they all use a data connection.

I sure hope the fine folks over at XDA can hack the FM tuner capabilities back in to North American Note 2's!
