Default cannot play video????

So I have quite a few very important videos on my phone that wont play. When looking at the "images" app I can see all of my videos except 16 which appear as a black square with the play button on it. When I hit play it says "cannot play video". I have tried to save then to my SD card. but that didnt help. I have tried to remove them from my phone and put them on my computer. However once they are on my computer they say the same " this video cannot be played". Everything I have tried gives me the same results. I have downloaded multiple video players and have had no luck. These are all videos that I have were recorded off of my phone and have not edited or tampered with. I noticed only a few of the videos were unable to play but over about 2 months more and more became unable to play. Does anyone know whats going on? Will I loose these photos for good?? Is there a support number I can call that can help or some way to get these photos back? I will do just about anything

Try MX Player rather than the stock video player app. I find that it plays even FLV videos

No luck anymore ideas? These files all have been taken from my phone and saved in the same location as the same type of file(mp4).yet only select few have become corrupt. I'll be heading down to Verizon to talk to them but I already know they will be useless.

Sorry, corrupted videos are beyond my area of expertise (which really isn't that difficult). Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
