Default Movies and music not playing...

Im new to both the note 2 and android (been with apple for the last 5 years and got tired of their shit), so there's probably an easy fix that I havent found yet.
But I recently bought a 64 gb micro sd card to put movies an music on. I loaded all my music and all movies from my laptop onto it (2600+ songs and 22 movies), but the note 2 only recognizes about 1200 songs and no movies. Ive tried playing around with the file extensions (changing them to mp4 avi wmv for movies and mp3 m4a for songs) but nothing has worked. Ive even tried downloading a bunch of file converters and they all say they cant recognize the "undf file".
If anyone has any knowledge as to what im doing wrong or if theres a step ive missed, I would be really greatful for some help!

Thanks!

You could try downloading a file manager. I have one called "File Manager" (but not on the Note) which has lists of the files on my SD card.

Also see what file types the Note supports. It won't work to rename the files. I'm not sure if you can really successfully convert media files on Android.

Ill have to give the file manager a try. And my device isn't rooted. Not comfortable enough with android yet to root it.
And I have 3 files on my sd card:the file that came with it, a file for my music and a file for my movies.
Im guessing it's something more to do with the files themselves rather than the note because none of thwm are working with my new laptop running windows 8 (old one ran windows 7)
But thank you both for the replies!!

I was under the impression you couldn't transfer film and tv bought for an Apple device due to them being awkward and not allowing.

I have tried a couple of video converters and never had great success.

For the Video, I would suggest using the MX Player (3rd party app, Free available with AD support) and see if they can be playable.

Are the movies you are trying to watch from iTunes?

It sounds like the files that are not playing have DRM (digital rights management). If they do contain DRM, good luck with those. It'll require some digging (not in this forum) in finding methods of 'fixing' this. Though not guaranteed.

I never thought of that! In that case, the OP only needs to burn the music and then rip it back to mp3 or whatever. Not sure if it works with movies.
