Default Email Attachments

We are having some issues with email attachments on a user’s phone. The user gets an attachment (they have a Samsung Note II) that is placed in the body of the email. Open the email on their phone and it shows a blank email (nothing in the email except the attachment). I tested this on my phone (using Touchdown) after the forwarded me the email and it opened fine. I also tested this using an iPad and the forwarded email showed the attachment. Any ideas why this attachment would not show up on their phone?

Wrong or defective email app? Port screw-up by their carrier?

It's the native email application. I contacted Verizon and Samsung and they can't seem to come up with any resolutions

Not yet. That was my last resort, as this is our company's CEO's phone.

This thread in Google Groups may or may not help. I know I had issues with Exchange 2007 and 2010 on my phone before and it was a headache. Do you know if it's Exchange 2007, 2010, or even 2003 that your company uses?

Also, check with your IT group (unless you are the IT person?)

We use Exchange 2010. I will take a look at the thread. I am an IT person for our company. Do you have a link to the thread? Thank you.

Whoops, I was in the middle of work and thought I posted it. Here it is:

Good luck.

I will tell you I think the 2010 version has had a lot of issues with Touchdown. But, I'm not an IT person so I cannot be sure that is the problem.

K9 is fantastic. I've been using it for as long as I've used Android

Unfortunately the issue we are having is with the native mail client. I tested it out on my personal device that is running touchdown and didn't have any issues. For some reason the native mail client wont show the attachment, weirdest thing ever. I'll have him test k9. Thanks.

K9 is the better option than stock. Stock email client has always been lacking, especially for a business email account

Looks like K9 does not support Exchange at this time. I have been trying to set it up for quite some time, with errors until I did some research.

I think it's because of the 2010 version you are using which has been a royal PITA. K9's forum is very in depth so you may be able to get some more specific help there.

I found this online:

https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/wiki/K9MailAndExchange

It might be dated, so you'll have to dig deeper. I found some alternatives to K9 recently, so let me know how it goes. I don't know how or if they work with Exchange so I'm not sure about them in that regard.
