Not trying to make a big deal but there's 3 different boxes. Could it mean 3 versions? Three colors? We'll find out.

I put all of my phones in cases, so color really doesn't matter to me too much, but some different colors from the norm would be nice.
Maybe a pastel yellow or pastel mint green, in addition to the reg black and white.

Since the Unpacked event is rumored to be having Samsung announce their smartwatch in conjunction with the Note 3, figured I'd post this rendering that was mentioned on the sammobile website:

[Concept] Here’s what the Samsung ‘Gear’ smartwatch could look like | SamMobile

There's the flexible screen. Out of all the smart watches I've seen, this is the most unique looking one yet...and actually has me very intrigued. Granted, I'm not big on wearing a watch, but should the Samsung smartwatch look similar, I'd consider buying.

The Note 3 is supposed to come out in 3 different colors: Black, White, and Pink from what I've heard. I don't have the link, but a recent youtube video I watched explained that the pink version wouldn't be out until a few months after the phone is released meaning only the black and white versions would be available at first.

I bet Pink will be exclusive to Korea, just like the Pink Note II was, but we'll have to wait and see.

No blue mentioned, as of yet.

Anybody write down the dimensions? It went by too quickly, but they said it's the same width as the Note 2...so that's already a plus for me. But I want to know how much taller it is. The width and thickness were the #1 physical dimensions that I was most concerned with, but I'd like to see the overall comparisons/dimensions.

Ooooo very appealing. Makes me miss my S-Pen since I moved over to the Z Ultra. Have they said if we're still stuck with a 16GB version?

btw happy to see multi-band LTE. Very smart.

"ultra high quality audio" nice.

With the multi-band LTE lots of folks could just get the international version, even moreso than before.

Now it looks like I have to buy the gear too. That's pretty sweet. Even if I don't use all of the features I like the idea that they are tied together like that. Checking email and texts in meetings will be even easier now.

I'm sold.

Bigger but lighter
The Note 3 sports a 5.7-inch, full high-definition screen, a slight boost from the Note 2's 5.5-inch display. But despite the bigger screen, the Note 3 is thinner and lighter, measuring 8.3mm and weighing just 168g. It's easy to hold in one hand -- in terms of weight, anyway; you can't work the screen with one hand unless you're the hitchhiker with the massive thumbs from that Uma Thurman film.

Thanks. They mentioned the dimensions early on in the event and I was too slow to write them down, prior to the visual moving on.

I know it's the same width, from what they mentioned in the event. I just want to see the height comparison. I got a quick glance of someone doing a size comparison at the end of the video, but couldn't tell the difference...so it seems to be very, very close in height.

I can operate my Note 2 with 1 hand. As long as the Note 3 isn't too much taller than the Note 2, I should be able to do the same with the Note 3. The physical dimensions were my first concern. 2nd concern is if Sprint offers the 64gb version. While I'd be happy with 32gb, not sure it'd be enough for me to upgrade this year.

In addition to everything else mentioned above, I think it was awesome how he drew a rectangular box in the middle of the screen and selected which app to open in there (calculator). That was sick!!!!! S-pen functionality definitely improved!!! If I get N3, this time I'm probably going to find uses for s-pen Need to see when my wife is due for upgrade so I can give her my Note 2

Regarding Gear, a bit disappointed. I like the design and functionality, but 24hr battery life (which is questionable and more like 18-20hr), that fragile looking camera on the wrist, proprietary charging cradle, no mentioning of waterproof, only compatible with Note 3 for now (wait for S3/S4/N2 upgrades next months for compatibility - does that mean Note 2 getting 4.3?!?), and probably a hefty price tag kinds of puts it down.

Btw, I almost fell off my chair when the guy raised his hand to his ear to demonstrate answering the phone "HOT smartwatch" style. Those HOT guys on kickstarter were using that gesture as their main selling point, and I bet you Samsung has it patented already.

I'm curious as to the rootability of the Gear. If it gets rooted i predict the shutter sound goes away and a few more enhancements by the devs.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It's based on modified JB, so it's inevitable to be rooted. Did you see what they have done to ancient MotoACTV? It's a pure rooted touchscreen android smartwatch thanks to a few guys on XDA. But it's obviously outdated, although it gets about 4 days of battery life. SO, I'm hoping by rooting Gear, stripping it down to lightweight bare minimum they can make it universally compatible with every android device, optimize resources, and increase battery life. They didn't mention anything about wifi radio, so it has to be tethered to your phone. Hopefully after dust settles down and price gets reduced, and custom ROM gets released - it might be a cool device

what does seamless LTE mean? does that mean the same phone will work on ATT and Verizon? is this only for 4g? what if we drop to 3g?
