Default If there's lag...

I am eagerly awaiting the Note 3 to arrive, but I have to admit I'm a little worried there could be a little lag like the S4 has. Hopefully the faster processor and the bump in ram will eradicate any possibility of hiccups.

I'm also curious how the speaker will sound (something I use often) I was always pleased with my Note 2 speaker. Makes me curious if placing it on the bottom of the device will sound better. I keep looking for reviews that would show lag and I haven't found any yet. There was one that showed a stutter when loading the Samsung version of blink feed but that could have been blamed on slow data connection.

If this beast does indeed have noticeable lag, I would then have to decide what phone to get over the Note and I'm eyeballing the LG G2.

Yes with the resources the Note 3 has, there is no excuse for lag (theoretically).

My Note II has lag, but I chalk that up for too many programs running at once.

It's like your PC -- when you have too much software running at startup it hogs valuable memory and CPU resources.

I believe that is the reason many people see lag on their phone.

At least the Note III has 1GB ram more than the Note II which should help tremendously.

My note 2 lags pretty noticeably thanks to touchwiz. Apps like messaging, phone, camera routinely take a full 2 to 3 seconds to open. I'm pretty used to it by now, but it becomes more apparent when I use my droid DNA, which runs circles around the n2.

Touchwiz is just poorly optimized. It's the same reason the s4 lags. It doesn't really bother me since I'm also getting the n3, but I fully expect the LG g2 to feel faster than the n3.

Sorry for the noob question, but if I used apex or nova would that lag (phone, messenger) disappear?

I use Nova Launcher and I get a lag sometimes just flipping through home screens.

But, again, I attribute that to all the crap running on my system from Avast security scanners to weather programs to voice launching software to live wallpaper.
