It not affect signal for me. Not really sure on GPS.

You can't remove the back cover without open up the bumper.

I just am always afraid the S-Pen is going to be impossible to get out with a case on it.

Why would you be always afraid when you have this website, (and others) to ask questions?

Like if you asked ..... "hey, I was thinking about getting the neo hybrid, is it difficult to get at the s-pen?"

Then a guy like me might say ........ "I just got one yesterday in gold color. Looks great and I have no problem getting at the s-pen"

See how easy that was, no need to be afraid my friend.

If you can test out the navigation at some point, I'd really appreciate it. Really like the way that looks, but have held off simply due to my using Nav all the time and having concerns about any cases/back covers that affect the use of nav (like the simple chrome plated back cover did for me).

Yeah I have huge hands and have no problem getting it out with a Defender on the phone...

I have to work my hands into XXL gloves slowly to avoid getting pinched or ripping the glove sometimes. lol

edit to add a pic of the pen well on the Otterbox. excuse the crap pic I took it with my work phone, a Casio Gshock ravine. Yuk. lol

Another neo hybrd, metal slate. Really like the way it looks, no problems with S-pen and back is smooth so not as grippy.

Not liking the capacitive light bleed on the white.

Most proper cut out case won't have such issue. I can assure all following Genuine case no such issue on take out the S Pen:
  • Spigen (make sure it's genuine as a lot imitation one which not proper cut out and will have issue)
  • Otterbox
  • Rock
  • Body Glove
  • UAG (I not yet received but from image post pretty sure no issue)

Currently I at home town and didn't bring back that case, only can test out next week.

I am going to purchase Galaxay Note 3 in the next week and want to use the Seido Surface case and was wondering :

1. Do I really need a screen protector. ?

My previous phone I had the 2 piece case (Dilex) case with invisibleSHIELD® but over time the film has scratches in and I feel it would drag with the use of a stylus.

2. I don't feel like spending $40-$50 for a screen protector so I was considering after reading all the threads about screen protectors and I have it down to

loome New Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ScreenMate Real Tempered Glass 9H for $24.99

loome Galaxy Note3 / Note 3 ScreenMate Flex Flexible Glass 8H for $16.99

3. I have not had a good track record of applying the film type screen protectors without bubbles, so I need ease of installation in my choice as a consideration.

The flexible type screens appear to be more durable from cracking but less durable from defending a direct impact to the screen. The Seido Vitero and the Spigen are nice but $40 and appear to be difficult to apply without dust or bubble issues .

Thanks for all of your help to the new guy on the forum

I just purchased the iloome ScreenMate Real Tempered Glass 9H and was super easy to install and no bubbles.

Worked great with the Spigen slim arm case.

Great buy.

Been using the otterbox defender for about a month. S pen comes out just fine for me. Not a fan of the screen protector, not bad, but makes the screen ugly.

I popped the screen protector out of my otterbox before I even put it on. The N3 has gorilla glass 3 in it. I didn't think I needed the built in protector.

I had the Nokia N8 before, which also had Gorilla Glass.
(Yes, i know the Note 3 has Gorilla Glass 3 vs the N8's Gorilla Glass 1)
I dont know how or when it happened, but the N8's screen has a 4cm long, deep scratch in the middle of the screen.
So, I will not be taking any chances with the Note 3.

Going to slap a Spigen GLAS.tR on it as soon as it arrives

Gorilla glass will still scratch rather easily.

From the Gorilla Glass 3 announcement from Corning:

Quote:
With its new Native Damage Resistance™, Gorilla Glass 3 has been developed to provide improved durability to withstand deep scratches and cracks in the glass. As a result, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance provides enhanced scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility, and better retained strength once a scratch occurs.
Not to be a shill for Corning or anything, but it sure sounds as if GG3 is specifically designed to prevent and withstand scratches.

FWIW, I don't use screen protectors on any of my phones. But it seems to be almost a religious issue, so I don't try to convince anybody about it.

I've never used screen protectors before.
But the Note 3 costs 700 euros, so I just dont want to take any chances.

Well, could always give me your phone and I'll slide it face down on a sidewalk to you and just before I'll ask whether or not you want me to put a screen protector on it and see what you choose.

Well that's kind of a weird thing to say but whatever floats your boat. With the otterbox defender on the phone you can slide it all day if you want and the screen will never touch the pavement. The only thing that will get to your phone are your fingers and anything in your pocket if you pocket carry (which I don't). I did use the screen protector in the otterbox on my last phone an htc 4g lte and it was ok but after a while it started to bug me. I've never scratched a screen on a phone so at least for me it isn't a big deal. I'm ok with the risk.

I also don't carry insurance on the phone either. Quite the rebel I am I guess.

I had my note 2 in a pouch that covered the entire phone, but after a year of use I did see two tiny scratches. Only visible at certain angles with the screen turned off.

This is my third note 3. First two phones were defective right from the box. So I am super paranoid now and want a case and screen protector

I've been around too much sand to risk it. Sand is a little harder than glass so it will scratch it, and if you have it on your fingers, just the dust will do so.

Sorry about all the issues you have had with your Note 3 already. At least you didn't give up on it and have a good device now.

Sometimes people need to have it on, like I work as a Project Manager on a construction site and I need something on it otherwise it's going to get screwed up .

Just to keep things consistent I have merged your thread regarding a screen protectors and cases with this one since this is a parent thread discussing cases and such for the Note 3.

Hope this helps, I will be sending you a PM shortly as well

Just try out.

No issue on any signal include GPS.

I know the standard ones that Verizon gives out are pretty good.

Always really good touch response still, very clear.

They are 10 bucks but it really isn't that bad.

Default Went With iloome Flexmate and Seido Surface

I decided on the iloome Flex Mate at $ 16.99 direct with shipping because Spigen Glass TR was $40 and it sounds difficult to lift off if you mess up placing it on the screen. Love Seido cases in the past very durable solid color through the plastic and no metal to interfere with emf. The surface case has lip edge for flat face down drops which i have done maybe 2-3 times in the last year.

I will let you over time if this screen protector holds up and the ease of installation for the money . I was going to purchase the Flex Mate from Amazon but it didn't qualify for free shipping. I ordered from iloomne direct and low and behold Amazon does the fulfillment of the order.

Thanks again for all great info on this forum

Not sure if anybody posted, but thought this was the most unique, but truly protective S-View case that I've seen on the market.

For all of you Otterbox fans, this looks like it could be a possible consideration as an alternate:

Galaxy Note 3 Case Slim Armor View - Galaxy Note 3 - Galaxy Note - Samsung - Brands | Spigen

SGP has them on sale right now for $46. Too bulky for my tastes, but if I didn't mind having a bulky case, I'd highly consider this one.

I bought the Otterbox Defender Case and it make the note look bulky.. On a good note I like that it has a screen protector and it covers up the note pretty well. I only use the holster as a kickstand.. I only wish that Radio Shack had it in different colors.

Looks awesome, but any type of flip covers makes the phone very difficult to handle.

Finally! my UAG - Navigator case is came!

Short Review:
  • The finish is extremely well done!
  • Nice to hold, non-slip at all!
  • Well done button holding part, the best cut out I ever seen.
  • Elegance Look!
  • No finger magnet!
  • Feel strong hold and not heavy and in nice thickness size.
  • Came with extra screen protector.
  • 3rd hole is confirm there already.
  • The best case I ever have for my Note 3, this will be my 1st favor case now.

Caution:
  • I should pick others color, the white is nice but it might easier get dirt due to the surface finish.

Of all the cases with a kickstand offering both portrait and landscape view (a must) which one is the best? Got a picture? Prefer something not very chunky.
