Nevertheless, I am interested in the Otterbox Defender. It has nothing to do with "better/same protection for the dollar" or how cool the UAG looks (without a doubt it's one of the best looking cases out there IMO). I am simply interested in the Defender.

So again, can anyone comment if the outer rubber shell on their Note 3 OtterBox Defender has stretched out? Thanks.

I'd like an app that counts how many times the phone falls to the ground. Because I've lost count.

Tiny bit of stretching because of the way my car mount squeezes the phone at the bottom. Otherwise holding up pretty good.

Good idea. When I had my Droid X, I would have wanted to know how many times I accidentally threw it against the wall out of sheer frustration.

I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid case on. Supposed to protect the phone well, never dropped my phone though so couldn't confirm how well ;-). Also have a tempered glass screen protector on which appears to offer more protection than a standard plastic one, not to mention the screen is much brighter

Depends how much protection you need for your phone? I think with the second image you've posted of the blue case, that acts similar to the official Samsung flip cases? It looks like it doesn't protect the sides of the phone and I know from experience that's not a good thing - back on the S3 flip case is slippy so when I moved my table my partners phone slipped and hit the leg, of course it was on the side where the case didn't protect and left a dent and that was no more than 3 feet.

Otterbox Commuter without a doubt. Don't even think about the Otterbox Defender unless you want to transform your GN3 into a gigantic, morbidly obese hunk of plastic and rubber that also looks HIDEOUS.

I have the Spigen Bounce, and am happy with it. It covers the back and sides, and provides a rim around the front to protect the display if the phone is dropped. It fits perfectly, allows a decent grip, and isn't difficult to slide in or out of a pocket. And it was $11.

I used a sleeve case for years with my Galaxy S2 before getting the Note 3. I loved the sleeve case because it protected the phone well, yet when I take the phone out of the sleeve the phone is not encumbered by a clumsy case that gets in my way and makes it not fit in my pocket.

When I got the Note 3 the first thing I did was shop for a sleeve case for it. I found it on eBay:

http://tinyurl.com/my3vw9q

The seller shipped it immediately, although it still took six days to get here from China. The cost was all of US $2.82. You can keep your overpriced cases; I'm very happy with my little sleeve case.

I need a sturdy 'slim profile' case that fits in the desktop charger. I use my Note 3 as my clock-calendar-weather display in my bedroom. I got the S View last week. Nice looking case (cover) that makes your device look elegant or professional. The S View 'window' is very 'cool' and has some functionality as you might know. You can access your camera, action memo, and music without flipping the cover and opening your device. 'However' the disappointing thing is that cool desktop animation that shows when your device is docked does NOT when you are using the S View. You need to find a way to keep the lid open so the desktop animation kicks in. Not practical.
The Spigen Neo Hybrid looks very good.
Does anyone here know if it enables smooth docking?

Get one of these - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_6_12?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=urban+armour+gear+note+3&sprefix=gumdrop+ case%2Caps%2C578

And add a tempered glass screen protector. Otterbox = Overpriced and Overrated.

I assume you mean the one without the front view cover?
I don't have it for the Note 3 but, I did have the Slim Armor and Neo Hybrid for my iPhone 5 and much preferred the Neo which is why I chose that for the Note 3. I liked that the Neo covers all the corners where as the Armor didn't.
I am tempted to get the Slim Armor View case though and see how I like that as it looks like it offers up the most protection of the Spigen cases available (that I've seen).
I wasn't sure about the Bounce case, there was something I liked about it but, at the end of the day it's just an expensive gel case imo so I didn't get it.
Think the Urban Armor Gear is supposed to offer more protection than the Spigen Neo/Armor but, I personally think it looks horrendous lol. I know I couldn't have it on my phone anyway.

yes the one without the front view cover i seen it on ebay looks nice

Slim Armor View case looks ok but it is not my type of case

the Urban Armor Gear for me looks bad

the Bounce case looks like a waste of money

i did not no the Neo Hybrid covers all the coners im getting it

i seen the Duty Dual Layer TPU on ebay it looks nices but i want to find out if it is slim or bulky

i just want to get around 3 to 5 cases so i never will worry looking for a case wen i get sick of the case i had on my note 3 for a long time
sorry for my bad english

No best case for everybody. We all have our preferences. I find the hardened glass my first priority. I'm using the Spigen now because when I got it it was the best option. I want edge protection for when (not if) I drop it. I have the Otterbox Defender on since they first went on sale for Note 3. It adds some bulk but I want that protection when I finally screw up and drop it. It provides grip when I hold it which I do alot. It still fits in my iOttie dashmout and can still take a plugged in charger. I don't use a desk mount so I can't comment on that. Otterbox is expensive but I'm willing to pay for assurance that when my beloved Note 3 takes a six foot tumble onto asphalt it's going to have the best protection I can give it.

I liked the first one you asked me about.

I do like the Defender, I do not think it is ugly at all. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I like the protection it offers, bottom line.

I got in a hurry earlier and misspoke. I have the Commuter, not the Defender. It provides plenty of protection for me and is a bit lighter.

tried the Slim Armor, and although it fits and looks nicely, it does not 'dock' well...another waste for me...

My vote is for the Otterbox Commuter with Spigen tempered glass. I really like having the safe feeling with all that protection.

I've been looking for a nice/quality brown leather folio type case/replacement battery cover rather than one that the phone sits in.

I have some spigen slim armour (which arent slim) and various others but nothing that looks real quality.

I noticed Noreve announced some Horizon cases yesterday which look top quality but can't find any for the N3 just yet.

Any ideas? I don't want a window case, it must be leather, slim and preferably a battery cover replacement.

I have the pink replacement back by ANLEY. Its called a Bubble pack battery cover replacement and fits more snuggly than the original back did. Unfortunately, it doesn't come in brown but it does come in quite a variety of other colors. You can find it on Amazon. They run around $8.00 plus shipping. I had a seriously hard time choosing between light pink, coral pink and that really pretty green!

I don't think the glass screen is a must with the UAG cases unless you're afraid of it landing on a small object that would impact the screen (like a rock) from a drop. Otherwise the following link is my unintended "crash and drop test" with the UAG for my Galaxy S3: GS3 Case discussion thread. I only had a basic flimsy screen protector on it. The Note 3 UAG of course is built with the same ruggedness and quality.

I also have the UAG Slate Blue for my Note 3, but I recently swapped it out for the Spigen Neo Hyrbrid as I wanted something with less bulk. This is a very nice case, but I'll definitely be adding a tempered glass screen protector. The Neo Hybrid will be my daily driver, and then I'll swap out for the UAG when I'm out playing or at the gym.

Default Case for note 3 with wireless charging back

Does anyone know of a case/holster combo that will fit the note 3 with the wireless charging back installed? The stock Verizon combo only works with the standard back.

I am not looking for the smart case but one that includes a holster for the phone. The wireless charging back is a bit thicker than the flimsy standard back that come on the phone so I need a case to accommodate that extra thickness.

Default Finally, a horizontal kickstand case...

It took awhile but I've finally found one. To bad it's a hard case though.

Amazon.com: Amzer Snap On Shell Case with Kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900/N9000 - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Looks like it would give you great gripping ability and reading at your desk or table will be a lot easier with the landscape orientation but I'm into the hybrid case thing now. I love a soft silicone lining around my devices.

Has anyone had any issues with the Otterbox Commuter case port covers not laying flat and sticking up. It is kinda bugging me, but not as much as my Defender case stretching out around the edges.

Thanks

My Defender's cover stick out a very small amount. I find it helps me find the flaps when I need to open them. I don't find them a problem.

I am using the Spigen Neo Hybrid case which is slim enough to accommodate a QI wireless receiver plate underneath.

The case itself is very very snug especially with the QI receiver there, but provides excellent protection and does not add a lot of bulk at all, also it looks rather smart.

I pick this because of my specific need to install a QI receiver, I dont think there are THAT many cases out there that can accommodate it.

Default Best Buy Platinum series for Note 3

Anybody here have any experience with this case & holster for the Note 3? I will be buying myself a Note 3 before long and am trying to do my case purchase first. Whichever one I choose I will first put on tempered glass, probably from iloome. As far as cases goes I was thinking of UAG but have thought more about it after seeing pictures of the various cases standing next to each other in this thread.
The UAG just seems too bulky to me now after seeing the pics. Does anyone have input on the Platinum Series case & holster from Best Buy for $45? I seen a good review of it on youtube but have not seen it mentioned here.
Other than the Platinum series I am thinking either Spigen Neo-Hybrid or Spigen Slim Armour, probably leaning more towards Neo-Hybrid.
Any advice please. Especially on the Platinum series since I only have the youtube video to base my info on.
I figure the tempered glass will be my No. 1 defense with a slimmer case as my secondary protection.

Thanks for any help guys. Be gentle as this is my first post. TIA

My #1 recommendation in buying a tempered glass is the ultra thin, less expensive version. I dropped my phone on the screen side for the 1st time the other day and no issues. As much as I loved SGP products, the tempered glass is a little overpriced considering you can get ultra thin versions for much cheaper and it protects the screen way more than a regular screen protector.

Can you tell me which tempered glass brand you talked about to me? The one I am considering is the iloome 9H Premium tempered glass. I am basing this selection on an excellent youtube video demo. this product. Although not cheap it has the hardest screen protection available (9H) but also provided great responsiveness using the stylus.

I have read that not all tempered glass provides this same feel for the stylus. I will pay extra to have good glass protection. If you have another brand that provides 9H hardness and the stylus works well with it I am interested in other brands. Please let me know.

I believe that I would like to get the Neo-Hybrid case with glass protection but also would like a holster that would work with the Neo-Hybrid such as the one Platinum Series for the Note 3 from Best Buy. Can anyone recommend a good solid holster like this one that will work with the Neo-Hybrid?
I believe that this case & holster is supplied to Best Buy by Seidio as it looks identical to their Surface case. Thanks for any info.

This is the one I purchased from ebay and have had no issues after install

I basically searched ebay for "Galaxy Note 3 ultra slim tempered glass" at the time. There were only a few options back then. Now, there are a bunch of offerings. I use it with an ultra slim case also found from ebay.

Another choice I just had not thought of. I currently have the Galaxy S4 in a Tech 21 impact case. I have forgotten how good it fells in my hand. Not slippery at all and very thin. I just realized that they make the same case for the Note 3.
Has anyone here had any experience with this case for the Note 3? Compared to the Neo-Hybrid is it thinner than the Hybrid?
I wonder if it has the proper cutouts for the stylus and opening beside the stylus on the case? Kirk out!
