Default S Planner vanishes

Last night my full screen S planner diary just vanished. I can still get at it but the "always open" panel just disappeared suddenly. Why?

Yes I know you can do it with Android File Transfer. First remove Kies altogether.

This wouldn't have anything to do with Samsung renaming "S Planner" to "Calendar", would it? That happened with an update to my Galaxy Tab a few months back.

The calendar on my N3 was called "Calendar" out of the box.
