Default Quirky Camera on New Galaxy Note 3

I just got a new Galaxy Note 3 from AT&T, and ran into a very irritating problem. I post a lot of photos for my eBay business, and I usually have the exposure value cranked up. Well, the new phone auto resets the value to the default 0 as soon as I leave the app. Any guesses?
