Yes I know you can do it with Android File Transfer. First remove Kies altogether.

From what I can find it looks like a minor update to iron out some of the bugs. I would imagine the OTA would be a small update of around 25Meg, but the full firmware is huge. I'm downloading as I "Swype" as I think the updates may have improved things in KitKat for me to go to the trouble and manually flash, reroot and reset everything back up as I want.
