Default Galaxy Note 4g to 3G sim card?

Hi Guys,
I just bought the Galaxy Note from Amazon Wireless. It wasn't time for my upgrade but it was time for a family member. I was just wondering if my 3G SIM card will work in the Note since they asked for the phone number that was being upgraded. Or am I gonna have to hand it over to the family member and wait for the time of my own upgrade. I know in the past when I passed my phones over to another, my sim worked fine.

They had to replace my 3G sim card when I went from a captivate to the note. It didn't work in the note.

Its not an issue with the upgrade but the simply itself. Just take the note into an attention store when it arrives abduction they will get you all fixed up

Swing by an AT&T store so that they can upgrade your SIM. 5 min process.

You have to have an LTE SIM, but, it's backward compatible. I put it in an HSPA+ (4G) and 3G device and worked perfectly.

Go to an AT&T Corporate Store (not an Authorized Dealer, they will charge you for the SIM card) so the SIM swap will be free.

I just did this exact thing. I used a family members upgrade and moved from a Samsung Focus (3g) to Samsumg Infuse (4g). Instead of using the SIM that came with it that was programmed for my family member, I put my Focus 3g SIM card into the Infus (4g) phone. Everything worked fine except I couldn't get the 4g connection to get on the internet. All I had to do was call ATT tech support and they added a code to my SIM (IME number) to flag it for 4G. I was also grandfathered on the unlimited data plan and was able to keep it. It took every bit of 5-10 minutes.

I just wanted to make sure this is correct. I have an AT&T HTC Inspire. I'm due for an upgrade. I'm gonna order the Note from Amazon. When I get the Note, I can just put my sim card from my Inspire into the Note and that's it? I don't have to do anything else??

I did the same upgrade from Amazon (I had a Captivate).
The new Galaxy Note from Amazon will come with a 4G LTE sim card that you must use. I simply copied my contacts etc. to Gmail and then transfered them into the new Note.

As said previously your old 3G sim card will not work in 4G devices.

The reason I asked is because HTC Inspire phones are 4G. I just wanted to know if I had to do anything else at the AT&T store. I never bought a phone from anywhere else but at an official AT&T store.

Probably not. You will have to call in activate your new Note (Amazon supplies the 800 number). That will also deactivate your old phone.
