Default I cant add songs to playlist Galaxy Note

I have copied all the songs from PC to a directory named "songs" within the directory "usb storage". i can play the songs from "usb storage>songs" one after the other. I'm unable to add these songs to the playlist of the stock player and also winamp. i'm using Samsung Galaxy Note. Need your help in resolving it

Thanks

i did that but it did not solve. i tried copying this "songs" directory to the root directory and then the music applications were able to recognize these songs and i could add it to play list. The problem of keeping the songs directory in root directory is, it occupies the phone memory and so i cant store too many songs.

Ah than its due to USB storage doesn't get scanned for media files than. I guess your other option would be a MicroSD card.

I worked out that the folders outside usbStorage use the exact same storage space as that folder. there is nothing special about it other than the fact that the phone does not scan it. Assuming you have not rooted your phone you will not be able to access the 2Gb reserved for apps or the space used by the OS itself. Feel free to put your files anywhere you like.

Of course you can also add an external SD card (as I have) should you need more space than 11Gb (16Gb version) or 26Gb (32Gb version) for your mp3s.

Regards,
Eric.

as per the output of task manager on my phone, system storage currently available is 1.7GB and USB storage available is 10.8GB, but when i move that songs folder to root then free space in system storage gets reduced so that means its using the system storage and not the USB storage. Also since system storage is only 2GB i prefer not to use it

So can you put music on the phone storage and still listen to it or no?
