Surprised SD card problem

i had the arearom v2.2 greenbread rom on my phone. ive been using it since janurary. no problems really. then one night i put it on its nightly charge and the next morning i picked up my phone and it had a notification for a blank sd card. i had a 16gb card in it. it wont format, read, mount or unmount. i also put it in my computer and the computer wont recognize it or format it either.. if you know how to fix it please let me know
