Default Random Notification Sounds

My prevail sometimes does a notification sound without any actual notification. Last night was doing it every 30-45 mins while I was sleeping; sometimes they work on towers overnight so it could be from that. From some Googling it might be the roaming notification sound. In most phones it can be turned off at:
Menu/ Settings/ Wireless controls/ Mobile network settings/ Data roaming
the prevail does not show this setting.

Anyone has problems with random notification sounds? Any way to get to that setting? I tried searching far and wide but couldn't find anything, I even tried "any cut" but no luck.

My phone is rooted, if that helps.

Thanks,

Haris

I have random notification sounds too; they're not related to messaging but rather (as far as I can tell) it's making a sound when I go in & out of service (eg 3G or no 3G) - this means, for example, if I'm in a cement building with windows that my phone will bleep constantly as it picks up a weak signal then drops it.

The phone makes this sound even when it's in "silent" mode, as accessed through settings>sound

I have tried to get to a sound setting through settings>wireless & networks but can't seem to find a way to change the setting there.

In addition, I cannot find the sound that plays in any of the sound libraries - not in ringtones, notifications, not in the alarm clock, not on my SD card... I am baffled!

If anyone has figured this out, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. THANK YOU!
