I am not necessarily new to this whole programing thingy, yet I simply am stuck. I am running on a Galaxy Prevail 2.3.2 Fryo system, I have (not) touched the internal ROM, yet so far it seems there is not a single app for turning your earpiece volume down past the usual, I have rooted myself to 187Mod (with a few of my own tweaks to the ROM with respect for the original "perfectly working" setup/config) yet my handset earpiece as well as my Bluetooth headphones blow my ear up at the weakest level, I do not want to get in to my ROM... but it is tempting, if not for this mabey ill see some more improvements. Someone please help, I love my ROM as is!

Reason: Better title
It is very very irritating my wife depends on me to have a working phone, this is why i opted to a cheap android, idk what to do, every time i answer my phone i have to hold it at least five or six inches to hear... if they are whispering... they talk loud the speakers seem to almost blow.

Ill have to look into that further.

How? Im pretty sure that most of the odin images a rooted out of the box?
Yeah I thought so too, funny I had the thought to unroot again and try the stupid headset again... it works perfectly. that is no root, cwm5, and simple bluetooth headphones. I have been up all night trying to get it ready for monday... er today... lol no sleep 4 me

Yeah I am running CWM v5.0.2.6, gingerbread ( I assume cuz I got the GB keyboard), and Re-rooted with shabby/One Click Root for the Prevail/Replenish. Special thanks to bliss?lol
yeah I think it funny because when I un-rooted I had complete control even with root and stock I had control, yet upon loading the ROM complete loss... It shows a bar that moves yet no change in volume...Aargg
And as for odin and EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka I hit this one and all the above and get this The connection has timed out

Scroll through the odin thread. There are some newer links posted towards the end..
Edit. Chin Checka fixed the link

The new Rom is working better than before, the sound is still a little loud yet it is controllable, thank you soooo much skater!!!! Never quit your mod In my opinion is the best, tried all else none can compare.

Thank you. The more I learn, the better I can make it. Hopefully.

Okay sorry it took so long.. But I think I have found the Root of the problem. I used Odin to unRoot my Prevail (again), and return it to stock. After I tested the volume control... Perfect! Again I Rooted with shabby One click (the one that has a colorful background) (still stock) and tested.... Perfect! gingerbread... Perfect! Old ROM (187Mod-BETA)....FAILURE! So back to Odin and all again, then from Gingerbread to New ROM (187MoD-Honeybread3-Genocide)... Perfect!!! Hope this helps..

187MoD-beta is froyo based. So if your on GingerBread and you try flash a froyo based Rom it will not work.
