Default Shrinkage finally after 2 years

So I have had my prevail for a long time now and always wondered why my shrinkage status was never updated. So with shrinkage, as everyone already knows, after every (6) ON-TIME payments your bill reduces by $5 down to $35 or $40 idk. I will admit that there were 3 times where I didn't pay my bill on time, so I am not going to include those 3 months. So basically, Boost reps were very vague on the phone and would not factor in my shrinkage into my monthly bill. anyways, after haggling with them for 20 minutes, the rep came back and told me "ok we will deduct $5 from your acct". I told her that is unacceptable I should have already have $15 in shrinkage and FINALLY, after going through bank statements for the last 24 months and proving to her by the dates I paid my boost bill that I did qualify for shrinkage. She lowered my bill from $55 down to $40 a month. What a scam! I know I'm not the only one that has went through this!?

Just thought I'd share my 2 cents on this, I don't know if anyone else has had a similar experience with this. What I should have done was demand a credit for the last 6 months of me overpaying them $15 per month. OH well..........

I have never had an issue, sounds like you found a bug in the Boost system.

You have to actually mention that you want to get on their Shrinkage plan. Even then it might not take and you'll have to check back. When it comes to money I dont trust anyone. I was a Boost subscriber when they first started shrinkage... but the Boost rep that I talked to that day must not have understood me or something because 2 months later it was still not counting my payments. On the third month that shrinkage was available on Boost I called in again and went online after a few days and I was finally on Shrinkage. I've been watching my payments ever since. Glad you made it here. I've been on $35 for a while... I was grandfathered into the $50 plan with my Prevail.
Mountain Dew makes me happy.
If I've helped you, a thank you would be cool.

Default Congrats. And they are a pretty sleazy company

I'm having to fight for my final shrinkage. I've always paid early and more then once have had to call because I did not get credited for paying on time.
When I called a couple of weeks ago they said they'd fix it by the weekend.
I waited til Monday and called again and then had to be on hold with horrible music for 20 minutes. The cs rep came on and said she would fix it then she said b/c I had a smart phone she couldn't go to $35.
Then I had to repeatedly explain that I was grandfathered in b/c I had signed up before the price change. Then she put me on hold then came back then on hold while transferring. Then that person couldn't help and transferred me again (all with horrible hold music). Then someone who said my case was still open and that I wouldn't hear back when they made their decision. He was willing to add one of the months I had been shorted to my account but not the rest.

All I know is when I switch phones I'm going to go with virgin and the iphone - which is $35 a month from the beginning without all this shrinkage bullsh!t.

Boost gets a little slippery on the Shrinkage sometimes, especially when you hit the $35 mark. I had to call them to get them to drop me from $40. And that required some persuasion to get it.

The Samsung Galaxy Prevail is an entry level device for Boost Mobile. Unlike some of it's Galaxy S cousins, you wont find some of the higher end "Galaxy S" features and it doesn't have the familiar TouchWhiz interface seen on so m... Read More
