Default Rooted and now superuser cannot gain root access

so i rooted my Proclaim but then decided to reset to factory settings and now i apparently have no root access. But, if i use a Terminal app the "#" pops up... that indicates it is rooted right? Any help on gaining root access will be greatly appreciated. First post BTW
