Default no firmware

when i go to settings > software update to try and see if there are any device software updates, i get a popup telling me "no firmware". what does this mean?

it means there are no updates available.

"firmware" is just the name for the software that gets installed, its different than "software" becuase it gets written to Read Only Memory (ROM) and cannot be changed. (well, not without root access)

firmware is similar to software thats the important thing, and if the update wont find any, that means there are not any updates available for you.
