galaxy s mms settings

hello, i have a galaxy s on o2 (uk). i cannot acsess the internet so i contacted o2 who guided me through the settings. this didnt work so the lady told me my phone must be faulty, but i know its not as i got it off a friend who used it online too, can anybody help me? many thanks, sam
