Hi any help? i have my Samsung galaxy S anycall korean version is there any option on how to make the txt messaging to 160character per message? cause its only 80character per message and if you exceed it's fall on as MMS message please help on what do i need to do upgrade to US version or is this works on gingerbread update?

Is there any possibility of converting this korean ver to international ver I900? please i need your expertise thanks.

Yes, I have this phone and also wife has a galaxy s by samsung.

Mine is anycall. I bought it cheap from somebody who told me that it will not be able to do texts for over 80 words and never be able to do mms.....I also found no answers online.

I live in usa and have t-mobile and am running froyo 2.2

I can now send text messages up to 160 words and also send/receive pics and videos in texts as well. Go to the android market. Download SMSgo pro for free. You will then have to mess around a bit with the setting on smsgopro and your phone....this was fairly easy and only took a few minutes. Just got to mms settings on the gosmspro application...

So, it has been working flawless - texting photos, videos, etc.

If you need more info on settings, let me know and I will look at my anycall galaxy s to see what the setting are...

You need to do the following:

Go to Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - Market - UnInstall Updates and Clear Data

I had the same problem with my Korea SGS and the Market.
Fixed it right away!

by the way the market still need the password of my old account but i already forget it how can i change it? or do i need to remove that account? if i did remove it the system says that all of my contacts messages will be deleted how do it sir? thanks for replying..

Why are you still using Eclair 2.1?
You should probably update the firmware first...

Everyone I have talked to was able to solve the 80 characters to 160 problem using Handcent.....

Hi when im using go sms and handcent, cannot send the messege. and when i change my sim card using prepaid card its sending but when i use my sim post card it not will send what will i do? my phone is galaxy s anycall 2.3.4

Im not too sure man, I have only ever used the sim card that came with my phone.
By the sounds of it, you need a new sim post card. If one works and the other doesn't, seems like there is a problem with that sim card.

I tried changing my simcard, im using before a prepaid, now i tried postpaid and it works. I can send now through handcent. But its better to use the postpaid sim. coz thats what i pay for monthly rather than loading to a postpaid sim card. Im from Philippines and im using a Sun cellular network. How come it doesnt work on a postpaid one...

Here is the solution for "Message not sent" failure of sms from GO SMS Pro or Handcent SMS:

Check Settings - About phone - Status - Phone number -> if this is blank or "unknown", you got the reason for failure. This field is supposed to be your own number in international format (Ex: +91xxxxxxxxxx @ India !)

Sadly, Android does not give an option to edit this "My Numbers" or "My Own Numbers" value (stored on SIM). You'll need to use a Nokia Series 40 device or Samsung bada1.2 Wave2 (725) device or any other..
You'll find the option to enter your number in Addressbook-Settings-MyInfo..

Hope it helps, get back to me if need further info..

Download Handcent app in google play and in the handcent settings > Send Message settings check the box "If you are using samsung phone". And texting will work both for postpaid and prepaid sims.

The moment you place your sim card into your phone , it should automatically connect to that network in GSM mode or 3G/2G in Nepal

in the event it does not...than...

In order to connect to your network

touch settings> touch wireless and network> scroll down to Mobile networks > scroll down to T roaming > touch system selection> abd select automatically

If that fails than select search for networks

In order to setup data connection 3G/2G , you need to set your APN as given by your network

In Mobile network settings > touch Access point Names > add New APN

you will need to enter something like this

Smart ( here it your Nepal Network ) and you need to get the rest of the info from your network

Internet Settings
Name: Smart Internet
APN: internet
APN type: internet

MMS Settings
Name: Smart MMS
APN: mms
MMSC: http:// xxxxxxxx
MMSC proxy: xxxxxxxx
MMS port: xxxx
APN type: mms


In order to switch to GSM at any time from 3G or 2G


Touch settings > Wireless and network > scroll down to 3G data call settings > and touch disable ...you will automatically be using GSM only when you do this

another method is

settings> wireless and network> scroll down to Mobile networks > scroll down to T roaming > scroll down to Network setting > and set to GSM/GPRS

The easy way is to install data call settings widget from your widgets
and you can On or OFF 3G in one touch

First , are you able to send sms using the stock sms app?

If you cannot send sms at all...it would be because your phone settings for your network is missing but IF stock sms is working and handset is not...its because the SMSC number for handset has not been entered in its settings

All you need to do is enter SMSC number given by your Network provider in the sms app you want to use..go to settings of sms app and enter SMSC number...your problem should be solved.


BTW, in my experience the GO sms pro ( its free from google) performs better than Handset

Please contact your Sim Card Network provider for the Number or you can do a Google search for it based on your Network wherever you are

Typically an SMSC address or number is an ordinary phone number in the international format. The SMSC address is pre-set in the SIM card by the wireless network operator, which means you do not need to make any changes to it but it may not be automatically entered into your sms app, or was deleted accidentally, hence you need to enter it manually


I can give you you directions based on go sms as that is what I am using
for handset it should be similar


For Go SMS

SMSC settings

Open Go SMS pro and touch menu in your phone > touch settings in Go sms pro > Touch advanced panel > scroll down to SEND setting and touch > scroll down to Enabled customized SMSC and TICK > than Touch Customized SMSC number and ENTER YOUR NETWORK provided sms center number in international format (meaning + countrycode & center phone number , its like +63918xxxxxxxx)

Thats it

For MMS setting

open GO SMS pro > touch menu > touch sttings in Go > Touch advanced panel > scroll down to MMS settings and touch > scroll down to Fill APN configuration manually and Tick it > than enter MMSC, MMS Proxy and MMS port as given by your NETWORK provider in your country.


To make GO SMS as default (avoid receiving two notifications), Open stock SMS, in Settings, disable the Notifications, and in GO SMS's Settings, verify that Notifications option is enabled

If you have an app called Contacts Cleanup. It will put a +1 prefix in front of all your contact numbers and making them invalid. You need to remove the +1 from a contact in order to send local sms


Ok, the the main problem here could be you have too many active sms apps and the culprit could be Handset ( even if you already uninstall it, its settings can still be on the phone)

First send an sms to yourself or someone nearby you , to see if it reaches you/them

After that Please try this

Launch Handcent SMS

Press Menu Button >> More + >> Undelivered messages

Here you can delete undelivered conversations and this should end your "messages not sent" woes!

Make sure to turn off Handcent's notifications also

After which uninstall handset and freeze your stock sms for best results, when you are sure GO sms is working fine for you

MOST importantly, you should only have ONE default SMS app running in your phone

other options are

1) reboot phone

2) reset phone ( everything will be lost ) but you can start a new

I tried with given option also but go sms pro is not working..i m trying with handcent app and its allowing to send the sms of 120-130 characters but i m unable to forward any existing msg...i have to retype everything to send that msg to anyone and that too only of 120-130 characters...any help??????

How many sms apps are you running in your phone?

Please read this confirm you have done all this .......

When a user sends a text message (SMS message) to another user, the message gets stored in the SMSC (short message service center) which delivers it to the destination user when they are available. This is a store and forward option.

An SMS center (SMSC) is responsible for handling the SMS operations of a wireless network.

When an SMS message is sent from a mobile phone, it will reach an SMS center first.

The SMS center then forwards the SMS message towards the destination.

The main duty of an SMSC is to route SMS messages and regulate the process. If the recipient is unavailable (for example, when the mobile phone is switched off), the SMSC will store the SMS message.

It will forward the SMS message when the recipient is available. source


Hence, You must know the address of the wireless network operator's SMSC in order to use SMS messaging with your mobile phone. Typically an SMSC address is an ordinary phone number in the international format. The SMSC address is pre-set in the SIM card by the wireless network operator, which means you do not need to make any changes to it but it may not be entered into your sms app, hence you need to enter it manually

How do we enter SMSC manually?

For Go SMS Pro...app available free from google market

To enter SMSC settings

Tips/Explanation: by XDA member happyllj

1. To make GO SMS as default (avoid receiving two notifications), Open stock SMS, in Settings, disable the Notifications, and in GO SMS's Settings, verify that Notifications option is enabled

2. Warning about “keep getting duplicate messages”: If you installed latest Handcent. It may cause you to receive double messages in GO SMS, please disable “Self-check” under “Retrieve message settings” of Handcent settings

3. If trouble with receiving MMS, please go to the stock SMS's settings, and enable the MMS auto-retrieve

4. For time offset issue, please try: Settings->Receive Settings-> set time adjustment offset

5. To fix message out of order issue for some phones, please try: Settings–Appearance Settings–Sort type of conversation messages

6. To make automatically turn on the screen when receiving message, go to "Settings"-"Notification Settings"-"Default notification Settings", enable "Unlock screen"

7. For privacy, you can use security lock, and you can set "Notification bar privacy mode" in "Default notification Settings"; uncheck “Display message content” in Popup windows settings

8. For individual settings, you can set it through Settings - Individual Settings, or through menu in conversation UI (individual bubble settings are under dev, thanks)

9. You can set signature in "Send Settings", and set individual signature in “Individual settings”.

10. Vote function (Menu –Vote. Please vote for “3 features you would love most to get from GO SMS”)

11. For reminder for unread messages, enable option: Settings–Notification Settings – Default notification settings–Reminder

12. There are two MMS view mode: long pressing the MMS, you can select “View flat slideshow” or “View slideshow”.

13. Messages Group Mode means if two messages’ interval is within 3 minutes, they will be grouped; the second message will not display time.

14. GO SMS support sending message to group: you just need to select multiple contacts (or group) from contact list.

15. “Resend” option is available in context menu for failed messages


Problems:- "Message not sent"


First reboot phone and test again ( by sending a message to yourself/someone nearby you) , If the problem still exists the reasons for this are


1) SMSC number missing

solution:- Enter SMSC number in the apps settings


2) if you had downloaded some form of text messaging apps from the market and then later deleted it or left it unused without freezing it, the settings from the old app stay buried somewhere within the android operating system files and it continues to mimic the attributes of the that app.


Solution: You need to install the deleted app again and alter its settings


For Handset SMS app:-


IF you had clicked yes to send a return receipt on a text message containing an image in Handset app, Handcent will show you this queue and allows you to delete these messages. Hence message not sent will appear on your phone...But in the Stock sms app it will just queue it and try to send again later


Solution:

1. Re-Install (if deleted) Handcent SMS
2. Launch Handcent SMS
3. Press Menu Button >> More + >> Undelivered messages
4. Here you can delete undelivered conversations and end your "messages not sent" woes!


3) If you used an app called Contacts Cleanup. It will put a +1 prefix in front of all my contact numbers and making them invalid.

Solution :- remove the +1 from a contact


If all above had been tried and failed :-

only option would be to reset your phone to factory default ...so THINK first... you need to save everything, you can use kies for contacts photos etc before you reset

Most of all, ONLY use one sms app and set it as your default sms app and freeze the stock sms app

Thank you soooooo much i tried it it works like magic , i want to throw my samsung bacause i cant send messages when i tried to change my sim, i didnt know the reason and gosh, ive been suffering for how many months not to be able to change my sim..now i tried your suggestion i used the iphone 2gs to set "my number" so its not unknown anymore and it workkksss...thank you!!!!!! First of all, Thank you all in this thread for sharing their exprnc. I got a Anycall Galaxy S from Korea to use it in India. I have a prepaid Vodafone sim. When I put this into phone and I am able to call/receive call,send/receive message. But randomly I get the error message "Registration failed(13)". I dont know why? .
Also, when I do factory reset, I got few messages/warrnings in korean language, I want get rid of this.
Please help me..
