Default How do you remove any secret tracking devices

Hi everyone,
Please, I would REALLLY appreciate any help or advice!
Im not up with technology.... and my ex originally would fix everything on my phone, including sync it with the computer (and his phone, if thats possible?)
I think he has put some kind of tracker device on it, including some app which allows him to see the texts i receive including my calls..

How do i remove this, when i dont have access to the computer he set it up on? Or is there any way to tell something is secretly stored on my phone? (Samsung galaxy S)

Thanks,

You can do a factory reset - everything on your phone will become as if you just took it out from the box.

However this will delete your SMS, contacts and other user data as well. All the installed Apps would be deleted.
