Default Fully connected to wifi but can't send texts

I am fully connected to wifi but i am unable to send and receive texts and send and receive calls...only when I have good service I can do so. I thought because I was connected to wifi no matter what I could do these things?

Calls and text rely on 1x/Edge to send/receive. Wifi will not help (nor does 3G) unless you're using a VOIP service like Google Voice.

Simply means you are out of range to your nearest cell tower, you can use a network booster app to boast your signal strength

just download any of these free apps and give it a go https://play.google.com/store/search?q=network+booster&c=apps
