Default Is My Phone Dead and Gone Forever?

For those who have already viewed this post the good news is that using SDK Tools I have managed to re flash my Galaxy S I9000 with a Stock rom but the bad news is that as soon as it rebooted it reboots to a password request screen.

I still cannot get to Recovery Mode and the phone will not switch off unless I remove the battery.

The phone does not have a SIM or a MicroSD Card so I do not know why it is asking for a password nor do I know what the password is.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Is this a lockscreen password or a Google account password?
If you've wiped it to a stock ROM it's likely the latter.

Thank you for your response.

I still do not know what the password was for or why my PC would not recognise my phone but the solution was to remove the battery from the phone, launch Odin, connect the phone to the PC via the USB cable, then re insert the battery and boot the phone into Download Mode.

The PC then recognised my phone and the ID:COM field in Odin turned green.

I made sure this time that I got a stock ROM download from a website that I knew was helpful because the files I originally used were downloaded from Sammobile.com and I think they were password protected and that's what the password request was for.

I then flashed the ROM and the phone rebooted into the new stock ROM.....and no password request.

Thanks again.
