When charging and mail or a texts comes it the led does nothing stays red? Shouldn't blink or do some to let me know I got mail or a text?

try lightflow. it's an app that lets you customize the led functions. You can even set the led to flash purple. you can make it flash really fast or really slow. you can make different flash colors or patterns for different apps and system events.
