Default Major Noob Needing Help

Hello,

I got my sII today and know absolutely nothing about it, I'm hoping to get some answers for what are, hopefully, simple questions....

1. I want to move .mp3's from my computer to my phone, how do I do this?

2. I want to remove some gmail contacts on my phone contacts list how do i delete contacts?

3. Alot of my old numbers on my SIM card aren't appearing in my contacts list, why is that?

4. What is rooting and ODIN?

Any assistance would be great, thanks.

1) There are different ways to do this. Using the usb cable supplied, using wifi or using bluetooth. To use the usb cable, you need to download a program called kies to your pc that contains all the drivers. Get this here:
Mobile Phone's Software&Manual SAMSUNG
Install this on your pc and you are ready to go. Connect your phone to your pc and you should get an auto play prompt. You can copy and paste your mp3s this way like you would with any usb memory or you can launch the kies program and do it through kies.
Another way of doing it would be via wifi, this is easier as you dont need to install kies on your pc but the transfer is slower. Connect your phone to your home wifi, launch the kies air app on your phone, press start and you should see an ip address on your phone screen something like http://192.168.43.1:8080/ Type the address you see on your phone in your browser on your home pc. This should bring up the kies air interface, navigate through it to copy files onto your phone.
2) Do you want to remove the contact completely? or just from your phone?
3) Go into your contacts, press menu, import, then import contacts from sim.
4) Rooting gives you access to areas on your phone that are otherwise secure. Odin is a program for your pc that you use to flash kernals, roms and modems. Check out the guide in stickies for more info:
