I'd say that's a hardware fault. I've never seen anything like it in years of photography, other than by image manipulation e.g. using Photoshop. It appears more pronounced towards the left but even centre-frame, where image quality should be best, is whacked. I'm guessing a lens element is out of alignment.... return it to the retailer.
