Default App that simulates a hardware power off?

Just wondering if any members happened to come across a app, that truly simulates a hardware power off? Meaning, an app that displays the confirmation window of shutting down, shutdown logo animation and standby time prior to shutting the mobile device completely.

I've downloaded a few powerdown apps on the market and they immediately powerdown the device within seconds... although such powerdown methods are indeed convenient, I was hoping someone comes across this kind of app that does the job a hardware button would do. Anyone?

Why would you want to do that? Hardware button on right side sounds what you looking for already.

The same reason people want an app to shut down their phones instead of relying on the use of the power button which also serves as a standby button... which is susceptible to malfunction in the long run, due to frequent pressing and varying finger pressures.

There are apps already out there designed to shut down the phone through the app, the only thing I'd like to know is whether anyone has encountered an app where the method of shutting down the phone is similar to the hardware method of shutting the phone off... instead of an immediate shutdown as what most shutdown apps out there are doing.

Why would I want it? Because my power button just broke, I'm under contract for nearly another year, but my phone only had a one year warranty. Now I'm stuck with the most inconvenient phone in the world as I try to find apps to allow me to easily turn the screen on/off, and have to pull my battery to "restart."

Just wondering how do you turn on your phone, if you ever remove battery or the phone gets shut down due t any other reason?

Temporary solution is to set the screen time out to minimum and use the Home key for wake up.
