Default How i downgrade from ICS to Gingerbread?

Good moring everyone.

I would like to downgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.5 after updating from ICS through Kies couple days ago,As Ice Cream Sandwich is a complete failure on S2 there nothing special,Face-unlock: Too long time before the camera opens., it quicker just unlock with your finger, interface is the same, Battery seem to suck more juice only last day even though i got Genuine Samsung Extended Battery Kit for Galaxy S2 - 2000mAh where GB last 3 day plus dodgey lockscreen the only best bit is in Setting. ICS and Samsung deffo need more work to it.
So would like to no how to back to GB 2.3.5?

Im on 3UK here detail of GB on my phone before ics

PDA XWKI8
Phone NEKI8
CSC H3GI2

PS i done google search and most links on XDA are dead on here aswell.

Plz Help

A note that if you are rooted, it should just be a case of restoring your GB CWM backup.

Let me answer that:

Yes, it is. Expect random restarts, lags and black-screens-of-death (with a restart afterwards) during which - it appears - vast amounts of power are sucked from my battery (it heats and always needs re-charge afterwards).

The only way I make it through the day is by keeping it in economy mode and using it sparingly. I charge it every chance I get, all through the day.

Many apps do not work on it. Strangely I only found out after I reverted to factory defaults. The ECONOMIST app wouldn't install, even though it worked fine after the upgrade and prior to the "RtFD" - go figure.

If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer.

I run about 100 apps on my phone and recently upgraded from the stock o2 Gb build to ICS through kies. Everything has been pretty much fine. No major battery drain and no big changes. I wondered what all the fuss was about to be honest. Before downgrading I would try a factory reset and reinstall your apps.

I second that about ICS... apps not as responsive, multi lingual voice recognition doesn't work at all, UI is more inconvenient and sketchy than anything. I can go on but I've wasted enough time with ICS already.

Going back to Gingerbread!

Taken from the Economist description in the Play Store, here.

"The Economist on Android operates on ICS tablets, Android phones and small and medium tablets running OS 2.x"

Therefore, during the upgrade to ICS, this non compatible app was attempting to function on Android 4.0.x.

Taken from post #1, here.

If you stop and think about the millions of app's and the myriad of settings that this has to take into account then maybe you can understand why there are sometimes problems with SGSII phones after ICS is installed.

Some of these problems are caused by app's that are not suitable for ICS. Remember, not all app's on the Play Store are ICS compatible yet. Other app's, that work on Gingerbread, have to be updated for ICS if possible, during the change to ICS. No mean feat.

The fault does not lie with the ICS firmware I'm afraid but rather in the upgrade process as discussed in my previous link.

Angry

Would someone please answer the actual QUESTION!

HOW do we downgrade from ICS back to GB?

And dont go assuming that we are ROMed and hacked and patched.

I have a Galaxy S from Orange, was in out-of-box condition until my Kies told me I had an update and installed ICS. No ROMS, no nothing, was really happy with it as was.

I need ".....for Dummies" instructions on how to get back to GB.

For God's Sake Guys,

It is very simple! we don't understand nothing just upgraded to ugly ICS and wish to downgrade now. In case you still don't see the question, it is "After software update through Kies to our from-the-box Galaxy SII, How can we downgrade to origional GB again?"

Ps. 1: I feel you madmal123!
Ps. 2: Is this an official android forum Google Inc?!!

How do you go back to a previous Android version? I used to be on Gingerbread but it was changed for me to ICS. If you down grade, do you loose apps / messages / pics / contacts etc?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums nomi40222!

You can downgrade from ICS to Gingerbread, Android 2.3.?, by downloading the stock Samsung firmware for your phone's CSC code and flashing it using Odin and the step-by-step instructions and video referred to in #1.7 of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide.
