OXX is one of a range of Samsung's multi language pack codes.
No release for OXX is available at this time. You can always check for yourself by connecting your phone to Kies, via USB.
It is not a good idea to change your sales code as you will void your warranty and I am not convinced it would work. If you were not worried about warranty you could flash one of the existing official ICS ROM's via Odin, as mentioned in the first post.

The Luxembourg (LP4) contains the following languages in the XW language pack:-
Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
So long as you are happy with those languages it should be fine.
LP4 is the most recent release. The firmware is LP4 but the CSC will be LP1 (to be expected).
I should point out that flashing this will void your warranty. I should also mention that by following this you will no longer be able to use Samsung Kies for your updates.
How easy it is, and how risk free, depends on your ability to read and follow instructions as well as your knowledge of Android. I would not recommend this procedure for a novice as you could "brick", your phone and render it completely unusable. As I mention in post #1 here, that it is for, "experienced and competent users only".

Will there be anyway to get back to my original firmware?
You would have to locate and download your original firmware on the web, complete with the OXX CSC code, and re-flash your phone again. This is also not without risks.

Ok this is weird. I have:
PDA: I9100XWKK2
PHONE: I9100XXKI4
CSC: I9100OPSKK1
Apparently it's available for Optus customers in australia (OPS) however when I go onto kies, it says I have the latest firmware (2.3.6).
Please help! I've had nothing but problems since the 2.3.6 upgrade. I've factory reset, got a new sim, etc. and no go. I'm hanging out for the ICS update.

Have you ever rooted, sim unlocked or flashed your phone with Odin?

2) Select the CSC that you want.
3) Click Install.
4) Phone will be rebooted by itself.(will wipe of everything)
5) That’s all.when you update to ics again change the csc code to INU thats India
Hi all, I'm in UK with csc reading XEU. I also am waiting for the update and all I can say is if u want to wait for update via kies then just be patient. From my understanding Samsung is going to release ics on carrier handsets first then the unbranded phones, the reason being that because of different countries and handsets one ics update will not suit all phones and Samsung also want to release ics slowly in order for any errors or issues to be revolved without confusion and then when stable and usable will be officially released for XEU etc.. I also check this site daily Samsung Galaxy S II Android ICS 4.0.3 Countries Release Status Page [Continuous Updating] | Josephws'sBlog | YouMobile

Regularly connect my phone to Kies and still no update.
Can anyone tell me what the above means? Is my phone unblocked/unbranded, I gather O2 handsets are getting there updates now?
I want mine any time soon?
Its quite simple if you read the first two posts.
Your code is the same as mine XEU meaning its a sim free phone used by sellers such as phones4u and other retailers who sell for all operators so they can give you the same phone regardless of what sim you're gonna put in it.
So it all means that if you click on many of the links in this thread relating to Samsung releasing sim free updates of ICS that you'll see they're doing them last when hopefully most bugs are irradicated.
I'm almost tempted to erase post #2 on here and replace it with that link instead. Not as much information but it would save me a lot of time and trouble.

Thanks man just glad I could input some useful info info the thread which u have already covered I must say but still seems to be confusing some people.
Ok so I've spent some time reading over the last couple of days and I still don't seem to have much joy. I've downloaded the firmware from sammobile for optus ICS update.
I'm wanting to do the update without deleting everything that's on there. I have apps on there with info that I need. Every time I try to sync with kies, it just gets stuck 1/2 way through and never completes it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling kies, same thing.
Also I think I found the steps through the flashguide but it seems like it'll format my phone and delete everything on it which i'm trying to avoid.
I'm not quite sure what to do, I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my phone or it got corrupted with the last update but
I believe it is infact rooted because when I look at the phone info it does say: root@dell88 #2 but I could be wrong. I have a basic to intermediate understanding of this stuff but not complex.
I'm hoping someone can guide me through it or just give me some advise!
First of.... ODIN and KIES are like water and oil, they don't mix.
Odin is for flashing firmware that you can download. Kies is for official upgrades. First you need to know which one you want.
Second, updates via Kies is non-wipe and in most cases for Odin, you can select non-wipe versions of firmware as well. The current advice is to of course do a wipe anyway if possible to prevent/solve problems with firmware clashes.
Thirds, that root does not mean your phone is rooted....
Try to explain what you want to do, then those who know can guide you on the best way to do it. Example upgrade via official channels so as to maintain warranty or not.
I'm an Optus customer in Australia with an S2 so technically the ICS update is supposed to be available for me through kies but it's not. I've called Optus and Samsung and they just give me vague answers and nothing specific.
At the end of the day I want ICS. And I don't really care what I have to do to get it at this point. I would prefer to not lose my Apps because I have quite a bit of stuff that I couldn't get back. I have however moved all my contacts to my SIM and my SMS & phone logs have been backed up. I've put all my photos on my computer just incase.
I guess the fact that I can't get ICS when I should be able to is concerning me and leaving me wonder if it's my phone or something else.
Anyway I would be happy to answer any specific questions anyone has (as best I can) to shed some light on this - I can provide screen shots, details, etc. I have provided the CSC etc. details in a previous post.
From what Ironass reported, it seems ICS have yet to be rolled out for Australia. In that case ecinereb, you either have to wait or use Odin to flash. I have not flash, since my phone works fine for me with Gingerbread and I rather have ICS ONLY when they fixed all the issues.
As for flashing, there are a lot of advice on those already in the forum. Have a search. Although some of the senior members are experts and would be able to redirect you to the best downloads.

You can download 'root check basic' from 'google play' to find if your phone is rooted or not
I got this one in Austria and i guess it is unlocked since Im using it now in Albania. What should i do to get ICS?
thank you and happy easter
You've got the Austrian 'mob' csc version and will have to wait till the Austrian firmware version of ICS is released and update your phone using kies, that's if your phone is not unlocked... if it is from what I know you won't get the update through kies and will have to use Odin to upgrade.
Check the info in the first page of this thread or click the link in my earlier post.. for info on how to update through Odin. you will require some info from someone more knowledgeable than me... hope that helps...

No worries, lets hope Samsung sorts this out for any future updates. its been stressing a lot of people out.. just keep checking every other day and it'll come lol
I've just connected my wife via Kies and it's updated to 4.0.3, this is an unbranded XEU handset
Did it Factory Reset ? If so when you reinstalled stuff/connected to google account etc, did you lose the layout of all your home screens ?
If so i might prefer to wait for the OTA update, if, that doesn't need factory reset too
**Edit
After reading posts in another thread decided to go ahead with it.
Damn thing came back on as new but with my apps still there so all my homescreens are as if i put it on for the first time....gonna take a while to get it all back how i like it Even having to setup all my email accounts etc again

I'm on a Virgin Mobile U.K sim free S2 and have just taken the ICS FW update via Kies so I imagine if you are in the UK and have a sim free, you should be able at last to get it.
Got an update too on XEU in the UK. Lost my homescreen layout but all my apps still on my device.. Haven't noticed any significant difference yet other than a few menu screens and some colours...
