Glitch with Contacts
I have an odd glitch with Contacts. There's something about the Gmail "Groups" that have disturbed the peace in my Contacts when syncing.
Problem: I get the ever annoying "Contacts have stopped working" notice after 15sec of blackness when trying to view my most popular and frequently used (of course!) contacts... but there's more to the story. It's a little "Group" of My Contacts in Gmail that I'm trying to get to work on my phone.
I've tried clearing data and re-syncing, I've tried unchecking contacts from sync, rebooting then rechecking contacts, but my dozen or so MOST FREQUENTLY USED CONTACTS still give me the black screen.
The most troubling fact is that I can view them all in Gmail, export the group by CSV them to a different Gmail and they work. A weirdo symptom is that some of the updated info from these contacts actually are viewable in the Contact Widget on the Samsung Galaxy S2. Even freakier is that I tried to add contacts to my FREQUENTLY USED group in Gmail, and grew the list to about 20 and now those additional 5-10 aren't viewable on my phone... It's almost like one of these first 12 contacts have a virus for me, they sabatoge the "viewability in Android" of any contact they get grouped with. I've even tried renaming, and also fresh new groups and have the same problem.
At this point I just want a "Group" (not my whole list of My Contacts), to sync because all my other Phone contacts are nicely Joined with fbook twitter and skype just the way I want it except for these twenty. I did the clear data trick a few days ago but got fed up. Keep in mind these 20 contacts have about a 2h work to recopy (tons of info) and this post took me 6min.
I haven't found a similar problem on this forum, sorry if it's there, I've been searching all night. I'm a newbie with Ice Cream Sandwich (and here) but with a working knowledge of Gmail and Android OS.
