Question Can't update to ICS - sticks on 0%

I have been trying to update my girlfriends Galaxy S2 to ICS, which has been available for ages, she's just never got around to updating.

I tried it the other day through Kies, and all seemed to be going well until the stage when it says "Downloading" on the phone, along with the green Android man - on Kies on the PC there was a progress bar but it was just sat at 0%. I waited half an hour, then an hour, probably 2 hours in the end - still 0%. So I finally had to accept that it wasn't going to work and I used the reset key combo on the phone. Thankfully it restarted and 2.3 and the phone was still working correctly, but why wouldn't it update?

Thanks

There could be a number of reasons for this alex_ncfc, some of which are given in post #1, here.

You may find that the only way to update is by flashing the stock Samsung firmware for her CSC code, using Odin. This is also shown in the link. Providing that you choose the correct, matching, firmware, you will not void her warranty.
