Do you have Lte?

If it says 4g with Lte under it in the notification area you are.. .if it just says 4g you are not

The further you are from the tower the lower the speeds are.

Hey Mr. Ed, where are you from?. I live in Plano, TX, and I am wondering if I should be able to get those speeds. I stream everything from youtube using JetVD @ 720p and therefore U need true 4g speeds.

If I stand outside here in Princeton I can barely pick up lte surprisingly

This could be an issue. I live in the middle of nowhere. I expected to not have LTE here

Apparently, depending on where I am located on my property, I completely lose data connectivity while the phone switches from the LTE radio and the 3g radio

A few occurances it corrected itself. At least once I had to turn on airplane mode and then turn it off and data connectivity was restored

Please post if you find similar instances

Sick speeds! Those are the upper limits out of 73.6mbps that one LTE 10x10 sector can possibly squeeze. I've seen 68mbps on Verizon's LTE though.

my skyrocket says 4G on it but im not sure if its really connected to a 4G/LTE network..

AT&T has no LTE markets in California. It has to say 4G with small "LTE" underneath. If it only says "4G" it's HSPA+

So the symbol would be E - Edge, 3G - HSPA, 4G - HSPA+, 4G LTE - LTE? Any other symbols?

Almost, at least according to the Samsung manual from their web page:

E=Edge
4G=HSPA, etc
4G LTE=LTE

So i just got my phone yesterday and now i woke up today and my internet/data wasnt working.

I can connect to the WIFI and everything works perfectly. but than eventually my Data will be gone once i leave the wifi. I dont think its the leaving the Wifi problem because i left school and it still worked but once i got to work than left it didnt work anymore.

Any tips?

Ok, so question. How far away from the market area are you able to pickup a signal? I am in NJ and i work a little whiles west of NYC. I am wondering if I will be able to get LTE service when LTE goes live in NYC.

you need a 4g sim card, even when just using 3g. I had the same issue, i had a cingular 3g sim till yesterday.

So far I have seen the old 3g sim...4g and the new lte sim.

I have the 4g sim out of my infuse. Best buy had none of the new lte Sims ...but the phone did connect to lte so we thought all was well.

I wonder if it does make a difference.

It almost seems that the 3g radio is being "lazy" and not waking immediately.


Download the app log this and get some logs when this occurs. I am on the road for the next few hours but may be able to look at it when we get to the hotel.

Log the key word "radio" or "connect" "connection"

Generation...as in the generation of wireless technologies. Obviously 2G is slow, 3G is ok and real 4G (LTE) is fast.

my highest so far is 49,614 kbps down and my highest upload is 14,614 kbps

driving around, i hit crazy speeds with a 4-bar LTE signal...

while driving 50 mph, i hit 33 mbps. wow. that's crazy.

Same problem. I'm in maryland, Baltimore has LTE, but even when I'm in baltimore I can't get data to work (speed test app will ping but that it).

In Owings Mills MD its finicky, I have to restart the phone a lot. In Carroll county, its only hspa, but data continuously works.

Seems like a coverage issue when I'm bouncing between umts, hspa and LTE.

I've got the same problem, data dies a lot, just goes unresponsive in certain geographical areas (not in the middle of nowhere, and other AT&T customers get 3g fine)

How can you tell if the sim is LTE. In baltimore my phone says its on LTE, but the data doesn't work. In Owings Mills MD its in and out.

My sim doesnt say 3g or LTE, just a bunch of numbers.

The ATT rep at my local store swapped my SIM out that BB had put in. He said the LTE ones have green on them...the only visable difference.

my 3G SIM was swapped for a new one when i got the skyrocket. i was told i needed a new SIM for LTE.

Hmm, they gave me a new SIM, but maybe the guy didnt know what he was doing (as he wasnt aware the phone had just came out).

Let's see if the green shows through in this picture. You should see white at the top of card and orange/green at the bottom of card.
