Default Ice Cream Sandwich - data ON/OFF :::::: >>>

I have an S2 with Ginger Bread on it for some time now so when my friend got his Android he came straight to me for "instructions"...
Anyway, a long story short, upon turning on the phone I noticed that its running ICS so I started playing with it.
One thing I coudn`t find in ICS - compared to GB - is the Background Data. Where did they hide it? Or maybe the Background Data is linked to the Data Packet so that when you turn it ON/OFF then it turns ON/OFF the Background data as well?

ICS got rid of the background data check box; but you can still kinda do it, check out this post:

to answer the question as to how you switch off background data on ics.

1. settings-data usage...on Mobile screen switch mobile data on. you will now see Set Mobile Data Limit, click to activate and click OK on pop up, you may now turn mobile data off.

2. On above screen hit menu button you will now be given 3 options Data Roaming-Restrict background data-Show Wi-Fi usage.....tick Restrict background data click OK on pop up.....and your done.

only problem is you now have to live with a white triangle in your notification bar, but if it improves battery life i dont think its too much of an issue

Regards
