Welcome to the forums, Heather.
I'm not aware of a known audio issue with the Galaxy S2 (there could be such an issue, though), so I'm led to think that you may find the audio quality problem is carrier induced. That is, T-Mobile towers may be at fault at least temporarily.
Others with that device will chime in, but meanwhile I'm thinking that you may want to first try shutting the phone down, then powering back up, then make a call to see if the situation has improved.
