Default Internet SLOW on T-Mobile Galaxy S2

Hi,

I have a stock 2.3.6 Galaxy S2. I work in Midtown Manhattan and have full 4g coverage. Just got the phone today. Internet is way slower than it was on my Nokia n9 and G2x. I get a lot of timeouts. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Texting and calling is fine, but data sucks, despite the fact that this is a great reception area. I had to cut my sim card to work with the n9, and am using a ghetto adapter (cut out template from old sim card with tape), do you think that could be the culprit of my slow speeds? I'm going to a T-Mobile store to get a new, regular sim after work. Let me know if you guys think this is the problem or have heard anything similar to this.

I have the same problem. I don't think that it's your sim card because I used the new sim card that came with the phone. I called T Mobile and had them deactivate my old card and activate the new one. I've been using the new phone for about 2 weeks and around 11am thru 5pm, the data speed and signal sucks. Early in the morning I get the best data reception and speed, but as the day progresses, it slows down big time. My feeling is that the more people that use the network, the more it slows down. If I am wrong or if something can be done to improve the data speed and reception, please let me know.

I found out the problem. I work in Midtown Manhattan, and it turns out that they were working on a tower that day and the data was slow. I went to a T-mobile store and that's what one of the reps told me. At first, I didn't believe him, but, the second I went a little up-town, and on the train ride back home, my phone was blazing fast. Haven't had any issues since. Do you work in Midtown Manhattan too? That might have been the problem.
