Regular download, wait my 30 seconds, then nothing. Do I need some kind of ftp client? I rebooted my pc just for S&G's and tried again (among other 15 times or so).
I'm not sure what the problem is. I just tried and after 30 seconds it gave me the download link. Which browser you using? I'm using Firefox.

He is correct the second button from the left on the touch keys at the bottom of the screen activates the wipe. So the button on the left of the back arrow. My stock recovery does not respond with the power key either so to confirm the wipe press the button I described to confirm.
Ok really do not mind me tapatalk is playing some tricks on me the last post that I saw was the one I quoted and later when I use phandroid app I saw that I answered a post that was already solved.

Reason: I am being stupid.
IE7 or 8, cant recall off hand. Pop-up blocker turned off, tried 64bit and 32bit browser.
I click on link from 1st post and it opens the window with the option to choose free or premium download comparison. chose free, wait 30s then it looks like its loading, then nothing, same page.
I am going to install JDownloader when I get home and will try that. Maybe I'm doing it wrong... I thought a window would just pop up like normal downloads to say open/save/save as.

Another window doesn't popup for me. After 30 seconds, the other text you see (the free and the premium stuff) disappears and then it just says 'click here to download'.

I need to know if the revert to GB 2.3.5 will change my IMEI number ???
I've found the file on the internet,,, It's not my own back up...
How can I trust this file ? It says it's for my phone, but is there any way to check the full integrity of the .md5 file before flashing ?
T989DTLKJ3_T989DTLKJ3_TLS.zip
//inside the zip:
SS_DL.dll
T989DTLKJ3_T989DTLKJ3_T989DTLKJ3_HOME.tar.md5
I know that this file will be under PDA in odin3 v1.85
But the SS_DL.dll file ???
What I do with this one ? Where It goes ?

Hi GalaxDon.
Do you have the Galaxy S2 SGH-T989D Telus phone? That looks like the stock rom for that phone.
No, the only way to change the IMEI is for someone with the right equipment to electronically program it into your phone. Rom's will not do that.
You can check md5's with MD5 Checker. Install it on your PC then just copy & paste in the MD5 number and then select the file you want to check.
I have seen the SS_DL.dll file in some zips but you don't need it. Just select the .tar you want to flash.
Yes ! I have a telus sgh-t989d.
When you said: (( That looks like the stock rom for that phone. ))
How do you sure ? Is there any software to see inside the .md5 file ? And realy see Telus inscriptions inside... ?
Oooh... I don't know how to find the md5 number for cut and paste it ?
Last one please ?

I recognized the file name as the stock Telus rom.
I'm sorry, I've looked around and can't find a link for the Telus with an MD5. I would suggest downloading it from this thread, Telus Galaxy S2X (T989D) Ultimate Root and Optimization Guide with Steps Scroll down and you will see the link for it. Notice it also has a password you will need to enter when you extract the file.
I've found the file.
Have you knowed some one who use it, this file ?
A Telus user ?
Sorry for all these questions but, I want to be sure before apply this file...
Verry fast response !
Thanks a lot

Hi GalaxDon. Sorry it took so long to answer. Busy day at work.
Yes, if you look through that Telus thread you will find people who flashed it without problems.
Which rom are you using on your phone now? Are you having some kind of problem with it?
LoLLL... SInce ICS 4.0.3 Update via Kies official...( I've tried wipe and reset but still the same.)
My phone is slower and freezed some times in web browser and youtube... Wifi lower range... Wifi connect problem, need to shut down Wifi and then reactivate to make it connect at home or anywhere... More RAM use... My favorite keyboard app, latency playing, is now 108ms instead of 56ms... Email notification sometimes frezze the phone...
I don't know if I need to find some more, and it's only 1 1/2 month I'd updated...
I'm still on wanranty.
Samsung or Telus don't want to help me... They said, I need to ROOT my phone, now the waranty will be void...
But, when I read here,in this forum, that I can go back with out rooting my phone...
Does these tech. from Samsung and Telus are realy got the knowledge of all phones ?
That's the question...
Maybe they want to sale me another phone ?
No way !!!!
I don't understand why they decided to tell all unsatisfied Telus client, like me, SORRY SIR YOU CAN'T GO BACK TO GB 2.3.5 WITH OUT ROOTING AND IT'S YOUR
RESPOSABILITY THAT YOU'VE MADE THE CHOICE TO UPDATE, EVEN AN OFFICIAL UPDATE. ((((( No piracy !!!! ))) Hey !!!! The phone getting whorse with this update and you advertised: Update the software on your smartphone !!!
Keep your smartphone running efficiently by using the latest available software.
No one will help me now ??? That's what I'd said at this moment at the phone with Telus or Samsung...
So I'm here to find a way to get my phone same as I'd bought it the first day...
But, I'm little bit scared because I'd never done this before...
Ok, I talk to much... LOL...
I will try the downgrade verry soon I think...
Many thanks
GalaxDon

I followed your directions, but when I select start, it fails. When you say-
browse to the stock UVLDE file you downloaded and extracted. Select it.- I select it (the MD5 file) from the folder I created on my desktop, press start, wait and get a fail every time. Should I be selecting more things like Pit? Im on the t989. Help I HATE ice cream!!!

Welcome to the forums edub.
No, you don't need to select anything but PDA, the file and Start.
Do you have Kies installed and does it recognize your phone?
Do you have UBS Debugging checked in settings > developer options?
Is your phone in download mode when you press start?
Reboot your computer and phone and try again.
Try plugging in a different USB port on your computer.
Thanks for the easy directions. it's a shame that the bugs haven't been worked out on the Galaxy S2. My wife has a HTC Amaze and it runs on ICS with no problems at all. My phone was slow after the update. A factory reset made it run fast again, but I experienced a few app crashes and said the heck with ICS. My phone is running like new on Gingerbread.

One more question. When I was on ICS, I read about how to disable Carrier IQ. Does Gingerbread 2.3.6 have the Carrier IQ rootkit? If so, how do I disable or remove it?

Captain, its been a while since I used GB but I believe it has CIQ. One way to check is install this app, Lookout Carrier IQ Detector. You can also look and see what apps you have running. CIQ will be System Manager Application (com.carrieriq.tmobile).
The only way I know to stop it is to be rooted and using Titanium Backup Pro to freeze it. You could also uninstall it but freezing is probably the safest.
The Following User Says Thank You to Atma For This Useful Post:
Thanks. Yep, Gingerbread has it. One of the few nice things about ICS is that you can easily disable Carrier IQ. Thinking about trying the darkside custom kernel.
How long should it take for the Odin box to turn yellow after performing step 2? My phone has been showing the "Downloading..." screen after I did step 2 for about 15 minutes and the box in Odin still hasn't turned yellow. Does the folder structure where I placed the Odin exe matter?

Hi Chris. Welcome to the forums.
Normally it will just take a few seconds for the box to turn yellow. It doesn't really matter where you install Odin. If you haven't already, power off your phone and try it again. If you have Kies, make sure it isn't running. It can interfere with Odin.
Are you using a PC and has it recognized your phone in the past?
The Following User Says Thank You to Atma For This Useful Post:
Thanks for your reply! Now that you mention it, I reimaged this computer a week or so ago and didn't reinstall Kies. Crap. I guess that's the problem. Can I just unplug or shut the phone down? As I know you know, under "Downloading..." on the phone's screen, it says "Do not turn off target!!".
I went ahead and powered the phone off, unplugged the usb cable from it, and it booted up normally. I will install Kies now. Hopefully everything will go smoothly now. Thanks again!

You're welcome. Yeah it was ok to turn off since Odin wasn't downloading anything to it. You should be ok after you install Kies and it installs the drivers.

I'm up and running again, and quite happy to leave buggy, flaky ICS behind. Now it can be just a bad memory.
Atmazzz,
Thanks very much for the file download links and your instructions on how to do it.
And also a huge thanks (!) for helping me (and mercifully quickly, haha) when I was hung up. It was good news that it was something so simple, although I apologize for troubling you with a problem I created by my mistake. I truly appreciate you sharing your time to help me.
It might sound silly, but doing this removes a little bit of stress from my life, and it's for that I'm grateful. Thanks again and God bless!
I want to give a big thank you to Atmazzz!! I was being a big scaredy cat about downloading the file and programs bc Im not a computer wiz and I thought my phone was going to get messed up. I tried calling samsung and tmobile and none of them could help me get my software back to gingerbread bc as we all know ICS has a whole bunch of glitches that slow down and crash ur phone. He walked me through each step; and stayed on standby making sure everything went fine!!! I love himm loll... long story short everything is working fine! all my data is there and nothing is lost...except two phone numbers bt i didnt save them to my sim so thats my fault lmao. anyway this is the best way of going back to gingerbread and if you are scared like I was just ask him to walk u through it. Thanks again Atmazzz u are the best!

Lol I know what u mean! I thought about how I messed up my phone by downloading ICS everyday. Some features about ICS is cool; I can't lie... but the glitches make it so not worth it. I am more than happy to be back to my gingerbread! I was dancing around the house and everything lol (im corny) but at least ICS is not a problem of mine anymore...they should really update that software...Idk why they can't see how defective it is.
Thank you VERY much. I registered just so I could thank you. I had an S II back when it first came out, then sold it and got a white one when those came out. Absolutely loved the S II but I sold it to get the S III. WalMart has the S II on Monthly4G prepaid for $299 (compared to $550 no contract at T-Mobile) so I picked one up again.
I updated it to ICS and it's nice, but there's still a few annoying bugs I don't like. GB is fine w/ me so I just flashed it back thanks to your guide. UVLDE was the best for me on my white S II so I'm glad that's what you included in this guide.
Thanks again. ICS on the S II doesn't do the phone justice. I love ICS on my S III but on the S II it makes the phone lag. My S II works SO much better on GB. *This* is my favorite phone, not the laggy POS it is on GB.
Have you tried the 4.0.4 update? I've seen users say it fixed problems they had with 4.0.3. If you want to try it you can use the same method you used to go back to GB. Just follow this guide.
I took me like 2 hours to do it, but I did it correctly and it was pretty easy...loading and stuff took a long time. I miss the stock rom! next mission is to root it.

Welcome to the forums Minh. Glad it worked for you.
I don't know if you can revert to Gingerbread on the S3. I doubt you could find a Gingerbread stock rom for it since it came with ICS. You can try the Galaxy S3 forum here.
Hi, thank you for your help, it works great the second site.
The first one doesn't let me to download. Boat browser alone does not have flash 11 intergrated.
Tnx again

You need to do a factory reset. Do this:
Power off your phone. Hold both volume buttons and the power button at the same time. When the phone vibrates, let go of the power button but keep holding both volume buttons. In a few seconds you should be in the recovery menu. Use volume buttons to move up/down and power button to select. *if power button doesn't work, use your home key*. Go to wipe data/factory reset and select it. Next, select format cache partition. Now select reboot and it should be working normally.
atamzzz, thank you so much. your're the man. by the way i am new to android i would like to know which version is better 2.3.6 or 4.0.4. and should i root android or not. once again thank you.

You're welcome. Glad its working for you.
Well, I prefer 4.0.4. I think its smooth and a little better battery life. Some went back to Gingerbread because 4.0.3 was buggy. Some just like Gingerbread. Just a matter of personal preference I think.
Rooting will give you more power over your phone. Like being an administrator on your PC. You can delete bloatware and use a lot of apps that only work on rooted phones. You can read through this guide and see if you would like to root.
atamzzz, thank for your quick response. all info that you provided are very helpful. question i cant tethering from my phone to my computer. after tethering is go to tmobile website and i cant log on to any other site. do you know what wrong with it or it been block by tmobile that wont let my phone tethering?

I'm sorry. I'm not sure what you mean by this.
What kind of plan do you have with T-Mobile? I think back in June T-Mobile started charging $15 for a Hotspot/Tethering plan. It is included in some 5gb and 10gb data plans. I'm not positive about that though.
