Default Phone doesn't ring when dialing OUT sometimes- NOT CONNECTING

I have 4.0.4 and this doesn't happen everytime but about 1 in 25 times I try to dial out and it does nothing BUT it calls the person correctly but I can't hear anything. I try right back and it works fine. Thoughts?

This is a 4.0.4 bug I've see many reports of. I don't really know any fix yet.

Do you think it will be fixed or should I try going back to a different version? Would that help?

Your guess is as good as mine on a future fix. I thought we might get a Jellybean update maybe in November, but not so sure now. I wouldn't go back to 4.0.3. It had its own set of troubles. You could go back to Gingerbread 2.3.6 if you really wanted to. Or just live with it and hope we get an update.

I just bought this phone from Walmart, thinking it would be a nice upgrade from my HTC Mytouch 4G. I'm beginning to think I made a mistake!
I've had this problem 4 times today, and several times in the last week. I make a call, it says I'm connected, but nobody can hear anything. People call me back and ask why I called, since there was nothing there! Today, I could hear my sister, but she heard nothing.
The voice recognition seems very weak on this phone compared to the HTC also.
I assume it's not just me? I had heard how wonderful these phones were. The only thing I can say is the screen is nice!

Mine has been doing the same thing, Family Mobile is replacing the phone so we will see if it helps. From the reading I have done here it looks like its a software problem (ICS) more than a hardware problem.

I could have written this post! I talked to Samsung, they were NO help. I talked to Family Mobile, they hung up on me originally. The local T-Mobile store told me to ask for a new SIM card, since these phones require a different card? Family Mobile said that wasn't the problem, we'll just replace the phone! (Seems like trying the SIM card would be cheaper)
Naturally, I had to send it in before they'll send me a new phone, so I'm stuck using an old LG Optimus until it gets here!
I would not be surprised if it acts the same.

Called T-Mobile about this and the remedy is to remove battery and SIM card. So far it seems to work. But definitely it is a bug.
