Hello all.

I am new to the forum and I have done many many google searches to try to find out if what I'm asking about is common or if there is some sort of fix or recovery for my problem.

Problem: I unsynced Facebook for Android. I had joined several contacts in my phonebook/contact list on my phone for obvious ease of use.

I am now missing contacts from my phone that were entered independently from a Facebook contact.

This has happened to me twice now. Once because I had to replace my Galaxy S2 with a new Galaxy S2 and now because I dislike the Facebook app for android and decided to download the Friendcaster app and sync that with my phone instead.

I have T-mobile service who boasts some sort of contacts backup system but I cannot figure out where that information is stored or how to access it

I do not know I am missing phone numbers until I go to call people.

The information in my Google Contacts on my computer should be syncing to my phone so I do not understand why the numbers have also disappeared from there.

I would sincerely be grateful for any help. Even a link to a forum that has already answered this question would be welcome.

If you go to settings > Accounts and Sync, Tap your Google account, is the sync contacts box checked.

Something else, I took it off my phone because I didn't want or need it, but you probably have Mobile Life. I think it should be under Accounts and Sync also. Try going online and sign in to My Tmobile. When you are in your account, look on the right side under "I want to..." and down at the bottom there is a section for Mobile Life and contacts. You can try clicking on contacts and maybe get them back on your phone somehow there.

Try this: Go to contacts, press settings (At the bottom of phone screen on the left of Home "Button" to access the options for the contacts) Select "Contacts to display". A list of the accounts linked to your phone appears here: All Contacts, Customized List, MobileLife, SIM, email accounts like gmail, gmail+, hotmail, yahoo, etc, Facebook and any others apps or services. Choose "All contacts" to view all the contacts from all accounts and see if you find the ones you are missing, if they are there I think you can use the "Merge with Google" to copy contacts from other accounts to google contacts, if they are not there, maybe you could install facebook app to merge the contacts with google and then uninstall facebook again. Hope this helps you, I'm trying to get rid of duplicated contacts from all the emails accounts I have synchronized to my phone, so good luck, and lets us know if this helped.

I appreciate the help.

I do not see the particular phone # I am looking for in the "All Contacts" settings.

I also am not sure the numbers I've lost until I've got to call/text someone and it's not there, so it's hard to find out if these things will work.

I do have the Mobile Life thing through T Mobile. I have no clue how it works or if it just keeps a back up of the most current address book or if you can backdate and view numbers you used to have. I can see the option in my phone in the contacts screen but it still does not bring up the number I am looking for.

At any rate, I don't know why I'm still missing numbers.

I understand how to sync and unsync the apps I have but I think the damage is done.

What I would do is resync your phone with Facebook. Then do a T-mobile contacts sync or contacts sync with your e-mail provider. Then try removing your contacts sync with Facebook. Are your contacts still there?
