Default ICS Update For AT&T SGH-i777 Through Keys USB
Hello Friends,

Current Date: 06/22/2012
Current Time: 0448 Hours (EST)
Current OS: Android 2.3.6 (GINGERBREAD.UCKK6)
Current Kies Version: 2.3.2.12054_20
Current Location: Roswell, Georgia, USA
NOTE: MY DEVICE HAS NEVER BEEN ROOTED.

So, I read the link below and find out that ICS 4.0.3 (not 4.0.4) is out for download for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-i777 cell phone (which is what I have).

I quickly upgrade my version of Samsung Kies on my PC and connect my S2 via USB to my PC and try to update the OS to ICS 4.0.3. Kies says that I have the latest firmware version: PDA:KK6 / PHONE:KK6 / CSC:KK6 (ATT)

What is going on with the update? Is it going to be released?

Also, if I upgrade to ICS from Gingerbread, will it erase all my apps, pictures, music, videos, documents, personal data or will it only affect the system files? What are others thoughts on this who have already downloaded the update? Also, how much extra space should be free on the phone before doing the update?

The phone original comes with a 16 GB flash drive with only 11 GB available after Gingerbread is added (without any apps installed with the exception of standard, irremovable bloatware). How much space is available to users after ICS is put on a phone? Is an option to remove the pre-installed bloatware available to (non-rooted) ICS users? Is rooting the phone still necessary after installing ICS? What is the major difference between 4.0.3 vs 4.0.4? Will Siri (Voice) be available for our SGH-i777 phone using 4.0.3? What is the confirmed ICS version being release?

Note:Kies will undergo routine maintenance and will be unavailable on Friday, June 22, from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. CST. During this time, firmware upgrades will be unavailable through Kies.

count on it, what worries me though is that someone who got the upgrade the other day says the battery life still sucks.

Yea, from my understanding they pulled the update because it was still a bit buggy, including the battery gripe. The Kies servers were also unable to keep up with the demand from what I understand.

I just followed this post and was able to update my phone successfully to ICS.. For those who cant wait can do this way and njoy the ICS on you SGSII

Hey Lou,

I happened to be one of the poor souls who had a bad experience with the updated. However, my girlfriend and my roommate upgraded flawlessly. ICS is pretty cool, but maybe they have a more stable version coming along soon?

Default I accidently downloaded Tmobile Galaxy s2 update on my SCH-I777 Please Help :(
Made a dumb mistake... I downloaded Tmobile Galaxy s2 ICS update on my ATT Galaxy S2 SCH-I777... How can i switch back to either gingerbread or get th right ICS for my phone

As of now my phone shows following information under about:

Model Number GT-I9100
Andriod Version 4.0.3
Baseband Version I9100XXLPQ
Kernel Version 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505SE.infra@SEP-94#3

is anybody else unimpressed/turned off by ICS? i've been using it for a day now. the UI does not feel user intuitive, it runs slower, and i just basically miss gingerbread

It's been working fine for me so far. I've been hearing that a factory reset may be useful but backup first.
