Default Entering an unlock code

Hi all, I have a non-rooted Galaxy s2 (i777) from AT&T.

I will be traveling internationally soon, and wanted to unlock the phone so that I can use a SIM card from other countries.

I called AT&T and received an unlock code, however the only instructions they could give me on entering the unlock code involved first inserting the foreign SIM.

But I don't have the SIM card yet - I will get it once I get to the country. I would like to unlock the phone now, while still in the US, in case there is any issue with the unlock code they gave me.

So, can anyone tell me how to unlock the phone without inserting a new SIM? On previous phones I have owned, there was a complicated sequence of numbers to enter into the dialer that would eventually bring up a menu where the unlock code could be entered. Any idea how to do that with the Galaxy s2?

Thanks
