Default speakerphone works for calls but not music

hello all. i have a strange issue with my s2 (i777) that i'm hoping someone has ideas on that might correct these conditions. when placing/receiving calls i don't hear the caller and they don't hear me. but, i found a workaround though. if i immediately place incoming/outgoing call to speakerphone, then turn speakerphone back off again you can hear other person and they can hear you like normal. also, i can't hear music through phone speaker (even though it works for speakerphone during call!) but can hear fine through headphones via jack. bluetooth headphones don't work either. i did notice that music WILL play through speaker IF i'm on call and switched to speakerphone. while call is still in progress and music app playing music, when i switch speakerphone to off now music comes through tiny (ear) speaker! once call ends however, so does the music. very strange stuff.

i did buy my s2 used (like new looking though) and so i hope it is a problem that i can resolve. an at&t store employee took a peak at back with cover removed (but battery still in place) and he pointed out a small little circle that is pink (just a little outside upper right corner of battery compartment) and he said it should be white. he said when it is pink (like mine is) this indicates that phone has gotten wet at some point and may be the cause of the problem. it seems odd to me that everything else so far works just fine and suspect some other cause -- which is hopefully recoverable!

i have checked the flash counter and it is zero (which is good) and have restored to the original unrooted KH7 (android 2.3.4 os) .. go to this link:

[GUIDE] How to Prepare Your Phone to Return to the Store or for Warranty Replacement - xda-developers

but still have these issues. i have since upgraded to ics 4.0.3 os (via kies on my computer and using usb cable) .. go to this link:

I just got the official ICS Upgrade From AT&T - Page 9 - xda-developers

and still have these probs. i'm hoping there is some file that i just need to restore (akp file maybe?) but am not real knowledgeable about all this stuff and am still searching web for ideas.

one final thing to mention is that the at&t employee said that someone may have tried to unlock the phone with a bad code or something to that effect, and today i called at&t and got an unlock code (just said i'd be needing it for upcoming travel to europe) and it worked cuz i tested it out with a t-mobile sim card that i use with my t-mobile phone via straight talk. i will be putting in a at&t sim card from straight talk to use the at&t towers with my s2, but haven't done so yet. i don't think this will correct the problems though since all other features work fine on t-mobile network.

any ideas are greatly appreciated!
