Notsure "Downloading.. Do not turn off target!!" keeps comingback

Hey all
First of all i'm sorry for my bad english, but i could really use some help!

I just got my samsung galaxy SIII 4G. Now it's stuck on the "downloading... do not turn off target!!"-screen and has been it for hours. I've both tried to pull out the battery, pressed volUP+home+power and press power-button. Nothing seems to help..
I've tried to search for treads like this, but found none where the screen kept coming back.

Did the device ever boot up? If not, which carrier do you have? It sounds like you might need to flash firmware through Odin/Download mode because it's missing something like the System or the Kernel. This is what the device is waiting for.

In a very similar manner to how you would root the device using Odin, except you would flash a .tar file that contains the entire stock package of firmware (Stock OS, Stock kernel, stock recovery, stock bootloader, stock radio files). It's important to know which specific model the device is (I9300, I9305, etc) and which carrier because flashing the wrong firmware file could break it worse that it already is.

Where do I get this .tar file? The device is a 19305, but i'm not sure about what a carrier is

Alright, it's the company that provides you wireless service. I will try to locate the file for you once I have that info.

Alright, do you happen to know if the device is locked onto that network or if it's sim unlocked? If it is sim unlocked, is it the general international model? If not the general international model, was it originally 3's variant that was sim unlocked?

If you could attach a picture with a close up of the writing in Odin/Download mode, that might help me identify the necessary firmware better.

The screen looks like the left phone at this link:

It had the same text in the left corner before, but after using vol+home+power and then volume down for restart it dissapeared

Indeed, but I need the text that's in the upper left corner that begins with I9305 with all the letters after it. That should help me identify which region model I need. For example: I9305XXBMA3

Does it not boot up at all, or does it get stuck at another screen?

That is Odin mode. There should be some small text under a red label (like what's shown in the picture you linked. That's what I'm interested in.

What happens when you pull the battery, replace it and try to boot it up again normally? Does it go straight into Odin?

Edit: Since it's a tablet, you would do a simulated battery pull by holding the power button for like 20 seconds if I recall correctly.

What happens if you pull the battery and then put it back in and turn it on? If it's a tablet do a simulated battery yank by holding power for 20ish seconds.

I had this happen when I entered download mode by Turning off the phone, and then holding down the volume down and home key and hitting the power button. To exit this mode I did the same thing again I held down the volume down and home buttons and then hit the power button. I think I may have hit the volume down and home buttons again before it exited. Not sure.

Hi Everyone!! I am new in androids world, but I do not know if I have found the solution to the problem you are regarding to.
What I did was to download an original android version from my mobile supplier page and ran into my device using Odin as if I were rooting the phone!
As I am telling you, I dont know if this is the right solution, but it worked for me!!
Sorry for my English folks, and I hope this might have helped you!!

Has anyone consider using samsung kies here: SAMSUNG KIES
From what i seen and read was people are soft bricking your phone or stuck on updates etc....
If you can get into the Download mode/Recovery mode your in good shape. Just install kies and install the update drivers on your pc. Once that is done plug your phone in to your pc and it should acknowledge it and start the recovery. Be careful to not brick your phone using odin if you do not know what your doing or firmware/rom your using. Good luck to all here on this post. I can try to help if i can.. Dont forget to like & thanks

To Ryusaki
try pulling the battery and put it back in. if still the same issue try odin again to flash the recovery clockworkmod. If no progress try reinstalling the firmware since your in the download mode. You can use odin if you have the firmware or just use kies and it does it for you. Version T839UVKJ2 software update: T-Mobile Sid... | T-Mobile Support or read here for more info https://www.google.com/search?q=T839UVKJ2+firmware&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&client=firefox-aurora
Next time do a good research and read more forums for custom recovery for your particular phone model. good luck and cheers.
if this was useful please thank and like.

I think I have done just that. Flashed wrong firmware. Is there anyway out? I am getting the same message as everyone and I just cant get it up and running. I dint take note of region identification code and model and rest of it. Any help will be much appreciated.

All goes well and it tells me to reboot.
It reboots to ....Downloading Do not turn off target.....
Please tell what to do next (
Do I connect to pc/kies/ anything? is it actually doing anything? Have i forgotten to install something? Help please!!!

I pressed the down volume and I got to this message also, I clicked on OK to continue and after I few seconds I chickened out and decided to cancel, however nothing on the phone would stop it so I pulled out the battery, thankfully the phone booted up as normal, but will there have been any files loaded somewhere because of this and if so will they do any harm and can or should they be deleted?

Hello there
Unplug it and pull the battery
Put the battery back in and reboot.. No harm if Odin failed all attempts
