Even better are the new screenshots showing a VZW UAProf page indicating it is running on a VZW network... nice!

Does not use the quad core due to USA 3G+LTE issues of course but rather that nice S4 dual... but at this stage, I will take it

Wow! That thing is going to be a monster! I like that it's longer vs wider to get the screen real estate.
That's a great pre-release pic, I'm so excited about the S3 and the Evo.... choices, choices!

Yup. Whatever happens tomorrow will decide what I'll get between those two phones.

You could also download the Samsung Unpacked 2012 app from Google Play and watch from there. I know I will along with another source just incase.

It starts at 3pm from the east coast based on the unpacked app countdown timer.

Engadget link with a handy localised time translation:

Samsung unpacks the Galaxy tomorrow, we'll be liveblogging the London event right here! -- Engadget

Except the date is wrong.. they copied it from the Apple event

Time is correct though.

nah, you wouldn't need a hole anywhere near that big for the microphone, look how small the speaker one is. The microphone is probably built in to the bezel - my original desire has a hole probably 0.5mm x 1mm next to the usb connector. The hole in the screen protector is for a button.

Just a few more hours. I can't wait. This makes me want to switch to GSM as my second carrier. I was so quick to add Verizon as my second carrier beside Sprint for the Galaxy Nexus, but now that Google is passing out the Nexus on the Play Store (getting official updates) it makes me want to have GSM.

I have the exact same thought. I have been with VZW for 7 years but I'm so fed up with the way they handle android updates and releasing high end phones. They are just flooded with Motoblur devices and most high end HTC, Samsung phones are going to AT&T-mobile as of late. If GSIII model with Exynos comes to GSM carrier in US, I will strongly consider switching carrier.

Well, let's see if phone envy will finally kick back in. I have been almost 5 months without it, since I got my Nexus.

lets get our final predictions in -

Quote:
4.8 inch samoled+
1.4ghz quad exynos (1.5ghz dual s4 in the us)
1gb ram
32gb storage (16gb in us)
8mp cam (please don't be 12mp)
removable 2100mah battery
nfc
no on screen buttons
8mm thick
sd card slot

won't call this a prediction, but won't be surprised if -

release date given for international countries.
us carrier exclusive. no release date/general release date of sometime in q2/q3
no real surprises in my prediction, but curious to see what everyone else is expecting

I get it for every new iPhone, until I remember all of the things it can't do, such as attach a file from the compose screen of an email.

But yeah I think I'm gunna have serious sgs3 envy as the s2 is godlike

Samsung have done a stellar job of withholding leaks but we have still got enough info to have a good idea what is coming. Here is my shot at calling what we will see from the phone today:

* Exynos quad core 4412 (S4 for US)
* Micro sd slot
* Removeable 2100 mAh battery
* 8Mp camera
* NFC
* Thinner than the S2
* Will be called Galaxy S3
* 4.8" AMOLED screen (pentile, will be my only disappointment)
* Available in blue, white and black
* Released in June for Europe (don't know for US)
* Predict the mockups based on the manuel picture will be spot on. Essentially remove the outer case from the video leaks and you get this:

https://p.twimg.com/ArcC1k3CAAA3i3p.jpg

In a few hours all will be revealed!

I'm strongly considering this as well. I'm on Sprint and my contract ends on June. I still won't believe it until I see it. But if T-mobile ends up getting the Quadcore Exynos, it will be very tempting. I love my unlimited data but who knows when I'll get LTE. Who knows man. I might still stick with Sprint. It will be interesting to find out what will unfold. I'm excited.

Can I ask you why it seems such a big deal for you guys in the states to change carriers? It seems like some of you feel like you've finally had enough of a certain carrier after years of terrible service or reception or supplying a poor selection of phones, and it is almost the last straw if they don't get a certain phone model available.

Is it because only certain carriers are available in certain geographical areas, for instance?

The thing is, here in the UK, we switch carriers in the blink of an eye if they don't offer us what we want.

Default samsung gaalaxy siii

.The Korean company holds a secret key characteristics and features of the device, confirming only the fact that the Smartphone will get a new 4-core processor Exynos 4 Quad with a frequency of 1.4 GHz. However, the rumored U.S. The version gets a 2-core processor Qualcomm S4 but at the same time will support LTE, unlike the European version.

Unless I've missed something, I don't think Samsung has confirmed any of this. Have they even officially confirmed anything apart from an unveiling?

If this lands on VZW, I'm ditching my Nexus. I'll give it a few months because the price will drop after the initial first 1-4 months. By Christmas I should be able to grab this up on eBay or something (I refuse to buy anything directly from Verizon).

I'm prepared for disappointment.

If the screen is 4.8" like some have speculated, I don't want one. Way too huge. May as well have a tablet. I thought the SII was too large but have come around to 4.3" and if it was 720p it would blow the market away, competing with the xperia s for display pixel density. But if you have a lumbering great screen the pixels are bigger...

4.3 -4.5" 720p SAMOLED+ would be the ultimate form factor, I believe - even more so with the phosphorescent green pixel we've heard about.

You won't see Apple going with a huge screen size with bigger pixels. For me the only spec that would compensate for a 4.8" screen would be 1080p.

i used to think the exact same thing, until i got the 4.5 inch s2. replaced that with the 4.65 galaxy nexus and will gladly step up to 5 inches if its offered. the bigger screen is great.

obviously not for everyone, but you can guarantee this will be at least 4.6 inches, so if thats not for you, better start looking for something else

Just some food for thought. A 4.3" 5:3 screen is different in size to a 4.3" 16:9 screen.
The S2 uses the 5:3 screen and if you actually compared it to the 4.65" 16:9 screen of the gnex, you will realise that the screens are practically identical in width, and the gnex is only 1/2cm or 1/5inch longer in screen height.
Also if you compare the 4.3" 5:3 screen of the S2 to the 4.3" 16:9 screen of the xperia S, you will that the S2 screen is bigger due to the different aspect ratios.
A 4.65" 16:9 screen is something you could easily adjust too given that its barely longer than the S2 screen you're use to, so would a 4.7"-4.8" 16:9 screen be really pushing it?

Of course you may already know all of this lol so do feel free to ignore what I just typed.
I have no preference for screen size just yet but after handling the One X I do believe that its overall dimensions are something I would enjoy using and anything bigger may start becoming an issue with me. Then again you get people who swear by the note and adjust to its' size very quickly.

Comparing the aspect ratio of the screen is a great way to help choose between two (or more) phones, I'm a little embarrassed I hadn't thought of that!

I'm honestly surprised there have been no 11th hour rumors thus far. I was sure something would leak out this morning but things have been pretty boring so far today. That's one thing I give Apple. We don't seem to have the same level of hoopla that an iDevice launch does. We're close but not quite. 2 PM EST needs to hit now. I hope we get a nice version on Sprint.

I didn't say I'm used to a 4.3" screen - I said I've come around to the idea. LOL - I've got a HTC Desire with 3.7" display...

So yeah, maybe a 4.7-4.8" screen would be pushing it.

You see, you say the xperia S screen is smaller than the SII, and yet the experia S has an amazing 720p display, and the SII has only 800x480 which is exactly the same resolution as my Desire but just with larger pixels. So why aren't there more screens around like the one the xperia S is sporting right now.

But I've been spoiled by my Desire's AMOLED display, and I can't find anything I want to replace it with yet.

any confirmed info on the os skin? I'm hoping its just stock, or a really toned down version of touchwiz, akin to the new blur.
