So if this report is correct, GT-I9300 is not GSIII and just another mid range variant of GSII (possibly SGSII plus). I guess that 1.4Ghz Exynos is probably 4212 they started sampling late last year.
If this one coming soon is being called mid range phone with dual A9 Exynos, HD screen, ICS, it's good sign that SGSIII won't be disappointing hardware wise.
Definitely looking to be the phone my guy was talking about last month.
Still trying to get more out of him but he is being stingy with info right now...
Non-removable battery and non-expandable memory is a terrible concept, it's like they want you to suffer or something, as part of some oppressive new world order

Like many others I am getting seriously tired of waiting for the to announce this damn thing. I mean I know its a big deal and they have to get it right but come on .. all the rumors and crap .. its getting old.
I might just end up getting an HTC One X if this keeps up. ( kidding )
I love these posts. You do realize these "rumors" and "leaks" are all part of a viral marketing campaign, right? This is called free advertising. Leaking specs, starting rumors, getting us all in a frenzy over their next product so that we practically can't wait for the store to open on release day. My advice is to stop waiting anxiously for an announcement; it only leads to disappointment. I guarantee there will be a minimum of five phony release date rumors before you get a chance to buy.

The main reason a lot of these sites come out with this stuff is purely for hits. Think about it.. If the rumor looks legit enough every tech blog and forum on the planet will be reposting the story which converts to hits and advertising revenue for the guy who owns the site.
As for getting excited about new phones well .. I'm a geek I can't help it .. but your right .. patience is a virtue in these matters.

I'll bet there is some department within each of these phone companies responsible for leaking "rumors" of all kinds. There is no doubt about it, actually.

Agreed - I cannot see anything positive about this concept. Literally nothing. I like the fact if my battery begins to die I can swap it out for a new one. And I like that I can choose how much memory I can have in my phone and not be restricted into paying a substantial sum more to buy the phone with more memory "Just in case".

i've said it a hundred times....whats the point of having an awesome phone if you run out of battery life. i like to be able to open my phone and swap the battery when i'm not around an outlet all day.
also, like the galaxy nexus, you can buy an extended battery as an option. a non removable battery phone is stuck with its battery. just ask any original razr owner how they feel about their battery.
i've noticed a trend by manufacturers (sony, motorola & htc) of making flagship phones with non removable batteries to make there phones as thin as possible. this trend is idiotic imo. i dont want a phone thats as thin as a credit card, i want a phone that is useful to me.
unfortunately the phone makers see apple selling all those phones, so they also want to make sleek thin phones with non removable batteries.
the thing is, the iphone has a 3.5 screen so of course the battery life is good. on a 4.6 inch hd screen, you better have a 3000+ mAh battery in there or at least give me the option to swap out batteries if needed.

You give the iphone way too much credit. Battery life is onpar with most current android phones.
Medias all seem to be busy reviewing HTC One X/S now as they got new HTC toys to play with. It seems like very decent phones with good overall performance, but I'm still not fan of Sense UI and fixed 1800mAh battery is big minus for me. Anyway it's HTC time now, but hoping to see GSIII blowing it away soon.

Same here. I wonder what would be the better marketing move... Announcing the gs3 to steal the show from htc or wait till the hype had somewhat faded so the gs3 has the complete spotlight? I would think sooner is better when contracts are involved.
I agree .. the nexus is nice but already an outdated phone.
Already?
It was an outdated POS before it ever came out with its weak hardware specs & cheesy plastic non premium materials... oh, but it had ICS... woopie
Suckers!!!

I wouldn't believe that Samsung would delay the release of the S3 because they don't have 100% of S2s upgraded to ICS. I would believe that they're going to focus on when the next iPhone is going to be released, and try to maneuver their launch date around the iPhone's launch date. Which is rumored to be around June. Which also so happens to be 'the middle of the year'.

They've got to announce the s3 before iphone 5... They'll lose out big time if they don't.
"Tech bloggers, especially the opinionated ones, agree that Samsung must reach the 100 percent 'Galaxy S2 with Ice Cream Sandwich' status worldwide before selling a new flagship device, like the widely expected Galaxy S3, because it is the best way to convince the buying public that Samsung doesn't abandon customers like other manufacturers," the Pop Herald Reported.
pretty random comment to believe. wouldn't put any stock in that
i see a lot of people mentioning the iphone release. and i see a lot of people saying it'll be released in the summer. it won't. it'll be fall. if it were releasing soon, ios6 would be announced very soon so it could be put into beta and in the hands of developers to be ready for a june launch. since that's not happening, expect a fall launch
Since when updating android on last generation phones had anything to do with releasing new top model? SGSII release didn't have to wait until all variants of SGS got gingerbread if I remember correctly. SGSIII will surely launch before iPhone5.

Agreed. HTC Desire got Gingerbread months after the HTC Desire HD/Z was released, and a major factor for the updates are the carriers.
The Galaxy S III may not keep us waiting much longer, as Samsung has told AsiaE that it's started testing the device with Korean carriers. However, the testing process is apparently proving to be quite a challenge — Samsung wants the testing to be done quicker than the standard two months, but it'll take a while longer since the device features a quad-core processor as well as LTE.

unless Samsung are certain their SG3 will blow the iPhone out of the water, then release it 1 day after the iphone5 to completely steal their thunder and sales.
they do after all provide alot of parts for Apple and would have had a view of the components going into the new iPhone.

Thing is, that's not a new thing, they have had it for a while.
The only way Samsung can go is to release before iPhone 5. As soon as iPhone 5 is on pre order, you know hat will happen.
I have iPhone 4s and am eagerly waiting two devices. The Galaxy S3 and The iPhone 5.
I'm pretty sure that like many more people, I'm desperate to get hold of either and the one released first will get my custom.

Looks like it's backside. Ceramic battery looking cover I guess.
Could also be the front given the direction that it's chin curves and minimum size bezel.
Eh...who knows lol
It does bring about memories of the old galaxy nexus render:
Another day another leak:

isnt there a main article about the new leak on the phandroid website? lol
have to agree with J that it looks like the rear end...hmmm....theory...
does ceramic cause less interference to radio and GPS signals compared the plastic counterpart?
with it being a ceramic back...would that mean something along the lines of wireless charging?
also...wouldn't ceramic technically mean its "greener" than plastics and metals? sammy has been looking to reduce its carbon footprint, and this might be the new material to do it?
Eldar Murtazin, phone extraordinaire and longtime mobile industry hot shot, just tweeted that he had “no comment :-)” about the picture. Murtazin previously claimed he had seen and used the device. To add some fuel to the fire, Murtazin commented about another leaked SGS III picture saying it was close, but not the actual thing. Notice the similarities between that previous leak and this latest one? I sure do. So, with that “close but not the real thing” comment and his latest “no comment :-)” smiley face tweet, we may be looking at something real here folks. Time will tell.
if that's the front of the phone. its fake. only way to explain the slope on the chin is that we're looking at the back of the phone. but why would they show the back of the phone on a slide like this?
edit: nevermind, looked at his tweets later on..
Haris Bin Shaukat @HarizBS
@eldarmurtazin I guess you are hinting as it is the real deal
Eldar Murtazin @eldarmurtazin
@HarizBS no :-)
edit2: he responds earlier to somebody asking if quad or dual. he says not dual. so i guess (assuming he knows anything for once) that means no series 5 exynos
The rumors around the phone state it will have a ceramic body, that would explain the back looking like ceramic in the photo. But with Verizon's quad-core lte issue I think i might just get the nexus in the next few weeks. The nexus I know I can root
