I've had the chance to play around with both colors and I can say that although I love the hue and the metal-ish finish on the Pebble Blue, it gathers a lot of prints on the back and looks very bad. The white version is less discrete, but you can only see prints in reflections so it looks cleaner. That is why whte marble white is my personal preference.

Pebble blue with an otterbox defender.

For those that have seen both colors in person, which one looks better, the blue or white. I am going to preorder the S3 on verizon tomorrow, but don't know which color I want to get.

I can't personally mention which looks best as I am in the same boat as you. But I did come across this little tidbit today.
Until a few days ago I was leaning towards white. But given the amount of females I know with white iPhones and the number of white phones in general I think I am going to go with blue. Would be kinda sweet if it turns out to be this metallic blue mentioned.
They are both quite nice but I think the white is a bit more striking. The blue makes it a bit more conservative but it is still quite funky. I went for white as i have had dark phones in the past and wanted something a bit more striking
Edit: The blue has been delayed because they had some internal quality problems with the "hyperglaze" they were using on blue. I don't know if they are changing it to metallic now.
I saw both phones at the Samsung store in London yesterday, and I must saw the Blue is stunning, nothing like the pictures, I ordered blue but when it got delayed I changed and said I would have white but after seeing both I want blue again, it's definatley worth the wait.
Another thing is the blue shows every finger print but white doesn't show any apart from on the screen
I'm preordering tomorrow as well... and something about the white just screams iPhone and doesn't appeal to me. The pebble blue looks nice however in some photos/videos and depending on the angle, I see what looks like a purple tint but that could be the lighting... I called my local VZW today to see if they had any mock units for display just so I can get a jist of the size/color and the rep they don't but said it's similar to the Galaxy Nexus... Now only if the S3 came in.. you know.. black... but no... that's to 'generic' and not a 'Nature' color.

I ordered blue, but it won't matter as I will have an Otterbox defender on it.
Yep, color didn't matter to me. A case is going around mine to protect my baby. Maybe even get some black carbon fiber M3 skin as well and give it the Panda look, when not in a case.
The blue in the photo's doesn't do it for me. I have seen some pictures where it looks almost black - that i like. White to me from pictures looks more off-white vs pearl. I'm hoping its the former.
I agree with the white looks more striking or sleek or elegant. I just like it over the blue from a picture standpoint.
I'm hoping that is true. Otherwise, i may have to sell mine and buy the Blue.
White looks awesome, but I'm afraid it'd show dirt a lot easier or stain in the pocket. I'd also think scratches/scuffs would show easier. Blue from pictures looks meh, but from videos it look darker, more like graphite.

Oh no - the white gloss does indeed have issues with staining - as I've just experienced!! (from my cheapo chinesey £6 fake leather case)
Beware!
Somebody get JK Shin on the line!
(hopefully you can make it out in the picture attached the 2cm square patch in the middle)

Ordered 32gb WHITE version. Coming from a series of black Droid phones, I figured this would be a nice break. I'm slightly concerned that it might be a little feminine, but I'm secure enough in my manliness (sp?) that I think I can pull it off. And I think white is definitely more striking. I can't wait for this thing to arrive...hopefully sooner rather than later...
I originally planned to get blue but after looking at both for awhile online I got a white one. For some reason to me at least white just makes it look nice IMO than the blue. Plus with the QC issues they were having with blue, don't want to take any chances.

haha when did white become a female color? I see a lot of people saying this. A bit outlandish, really. It's not iphone white its an off color white. It's not like someone who has dark skin and bleeched their teeth white. Sheesh.

Yeah I don't think white is a female color. I have a lot of friends with white phones and I think I know one or two girls maybe that have white phones.
I ordered the blue, but the white is nice too. Doesn't really matter since most of us will have cases on the phones anyway.
My first case will be a cheap clear one from ebay. I already ordered it. Something to get me by until I see what Seidio has to offer. I just wish they offered a clear case. I like the look of the blue.
Not sure whether to get this phone in pebble blue or marble white!
The pebble blue looks pretty nice and is different, and I like how the front and back are more grey-ish blue. But my big problem is that the edges look meh, and the home button looks absolutely awful, almost purple, and doesn't match anything else on the phone.
The white looks incredible, but my concerns are that the white border will be distracting while watching video and that the notification light will be very bright and bleed, illuminating a lot of the top left of the phone.
I've watched a bunch of videos and still can't really tell. To anyone who has the phone already, what are your thoughts?

Hi there,
I had black or blue phones all my life (Nokia 3310, Nokia 6810, N95, N98, I8910, SGS2 - these I can remember). This time with the SGS3 recall of the blue model I decided to risk and got the white one. I can tell you that may be I was skeptical the first 1-2 days, but now I wouldn't change it for blue even if they give me 100 Euro extra. It looks stunning, fresh, summery, clean and etc. On top of that the metal like surface on the side of the phone is making this phone stand out 10 times more than the blue model.
I believe that if you get the white one you will not regret it.
Hi, I have the white version, it gives off a much more top end quality look than the blue (In my opinion.) and no there are no distractions with the white border when watching video.
Cheers.

I pre-ordered the white one because I'm looking for something different from the traditional Verizon Black Droid phones which I've had for the past several years. And also because you know what you're getting with the white version. I still don't know what the US blue version will look like. Metallic? Purple? Peeling issues? etc. I just don't know what it will look like. If you get the white and then see that the blue is super-cool, then you can try to switch over within the return period.
One other thing is that I assume the white will garner a bit more attention as well (which may or may not be a good thing).
Either way, it looks like a sweet phone. Good luck with your decision!

I am curious if the glossy white has reflection issues when mounted on a windshield. You may not know but figured I would ask.
I ordered the blue. It looks awesome in sunlight, and the sides seem to shine a nice blue also in sunlight. The white is nice, but to antiseptic too me. Don't like kitchen and hospital colors personally.
Besides white reminds me too much of the white iPhone craze I've seen so many of my iPhone friends get caught up in.

I have the same issue. I have pre-ordered this blue version. The edges have more intense violet like color and the home button has a different color as well. Now I have noticed that little bit of dust entering through the edges especially through the gaps in the home button. I m thinking to sell this color off and planing to get a white phone.

I pre ordered the blue, but I can always change colors within 14 days. I'm just going to ask if they have an white in stock even though I didn't pre order it.
My phone will serve daily duty in a car dock on my dash. White makes a HORRIBLE reflection in my window. I put white paper on my DX on the dash. The black DX is almost invisible, but when covered in white, wow, it is very distracting. I ordered blue. That aluminum strip that is not on the blue model, while looking nicer than without, would also give a bad reflection in the window.
If it weren't for the daily window duty, I'd have went white.

I also have a droid x with the dock,i pre ordered a white one and i gotta tell you i didnt think about the white reflecting on the windshield with the dock, but thats a small sacrafice im willing to make my car has built in GPS/bluetooth so i dont have to have the phone docked down site is it wont be charging
As in many things, you probably know which one is safer, and which one you think would would be cooler to have. But look at it the other way. If it turns out NOT to be what you thought it would be, which are you more likely to regret.
That's how I chose car colors, house painting choices, lots of stuff.
For me, the white is the shizzle, but I'd rather be safer and go with the blue.
I'll be getting a pebble blue one. I've never had a white phone, nor do I want one. It just seems like a white bezel would be too distracting. And I'll probably cover the phone with a TPU case anyway...
