Default GS3 Case discussion thread

I will buy the S3 the day it releases on verizon. Already buying accessories. As far as cases go, anyone found anything that looks good on the blue version. I have never had a blue phone and don't like how it goes with colored cases. Blue and black doesn't look good together, and I can't find a case that matches the blue. Was starting to think about getting the white phone, perish the thought. Anyone else having similar issues?

Mod note: I've renamed the topic to be a general case discussion thread. Thanks for understanding!

Default GS3 Case discussion thread

They have some pretty nice looking cases, curious if anyone ever purchased one for the past phones?

Here are a couple S3 cases..

I was looking earlier for a second and didn't see too many cases for it. I would think black would look ok, but am interested to see what people can find/suggest.

Default Are there any good cases for the GS3 yet?

Is it the same size case as the GS2? or not? If not, are there any good cases out yet?

No, it's larger.

Yep, plenty of good cases. From the OEM Samsung flip cases in blue or white to a host of other hard and soft backed bumpers. Otterbox are bringing their Commuter and Defender cases out soon and you can find loads of different cases on Mobilefun for instance.

The flip case is a no-go for me. How are you going to take pictures or record video? I'm always taking pictures of my kids and I also like picking up my phone and starting it up with one hand. The flip case is way to awkward for me. I'm waiting for Seidio to come out with their line of cases. Not really sure what I'm going to do until then.

It's pretty grippy. It has those little nodules all over the back.

Nice find, looks really good, I am definitely going to think about getting me one too.

Also, does anyone have prior experience with full body screen protectors? How do they compare with a case? Like how much protection does it offer vs a case? I am considering one to keep the form factor slim.

My Case Mate Barely There just arrived. My favorite on my last three devices. Not a lot of protection but do not drop my phone and keeps the scratches to zero.

Can not stand cases like the OtterBox

Check out Seido.com

They have a great case/holster combo. The case is about as this as I've seen that fits into a holster. It's not so much the case or the holster, but rather the way they work so smoothlyTheir case/holster has a very smooth, one hand click operation. Oh, and very lint resistant

+1 for the Seidio case/holster. I have had them for my last 2 phones and they are thin but protective. They are very good quality and are easy to use 1 handed. Good grip but slides easy into pocket and no lint.

I prefer the look of this one now:

Genuine Samsung S3 Slim Case - White - EFC-1G6SWEC - Twin Pack

It practically doesn't change the look of the phone, but still adds a level of protection to the back.

Has anyone seen a clear case that is more a soft rubber? I just have had hard cases get dirt in them and scratch the crap out of my phone.

My post above yours is a rubber clear case It's not released yet, but I think it should be any day. There were lots of accessories on mobilefun that said "not released" about two days ago that are now "in stock."

This phone has a monster screen that will eat a lot of battery quickly. Will Mophie or Power skin come out with a battery case?

I get better battery life than my old GS2 by far.

Waiting on the Ballistic SG Maxx case. I have a Shell Gell case for the nexus now and love it. I drop my Phone A Lot. This case increases the survival probability greatly.

That looks cool . I always felt it was silly to get an expensive case. How much gerth does it add? I have a Seidio active case on my Thunderbolt, and it really makes it bulky. Im looking for something a little thinner this time around. The Otterbox, id imagine, would be bulky too.

Love the look of the S3 as it is, so it's ideal
Id get this but that would get dirty real quick(you'll see all the dirt and lint accumulate). I'll just opt for a typical silicone case(i guess as close to blue as possible) in the same theory in mind. Won't ever get the hard snap on type cases since those tend to lose their "snap on" capabilities rendering them essentially useless within a few months time.

If you were to drop it face down, this case would stop the screen for hitting the ground, right?

Well, if the surface where it falls is leveled, than yes, it would. That isn't the case if it falls on a rough surface. To gain that kind of protection, you need a screen protector as well.
