Default Samsung Galaxy S3 bluetooth pairing

Hi, my Galaxy S3 bluetooth can't even scan my Jabra BT2080 headset and also my itech bluetooth headset. The only thing that it can scan and appear on the bluetooth device list is my PC bluetooth. Shouldn't it be backward compatible with my old headset? If it can't even scan, I can't get it paired. Anyone facing the same issue or any advise? I need to get the headset paired as I'm on the move all the time. Please help...thanks.

Try rebooting the S3 and power cycling the Bluetooth device, then retry.

So you have the Jabra on, you set the Jabra for pairing, you go to the bluetooth menu on your phone, click scan for devices, and get nothing?

Yes, AntimonyER. Scan and nothing appear. Both of my headset doesn't appear. Do you think might have some bluetooth antenna problem?

Doubt it since it finds your computer. Are you sure the jabra is in pairing mode and not just on? It should be flashing blue/red or something that indicates it can found.

Even it is shown 'paired' on my S3 with my pc and ipad, it didn't really make any pairing as my ipad shown not connected and pc shown error connecting device. i think will have to send back for warranty.

Default Bluethooth pairing with Samsung Galaxy s3

Same prob here. Have tried 3 different bluetooth earpieces, 2 Jabra and one Plantronics device. None are found in the scan. I've tried rebooting and removing the battery and restarting. Anyone else found a solution to this?

Default Found solution for Jabra Bluetooth not pairing with Galaxy S3

I had the same problem and finally fixed it. Firstly, I turned off the Galaxy S3 and then turned it back on (as opposed to simply restarting it). Next, I held down the multi-purpose button on the Jabra bluetooth as the Samsung S3 scanned for devices. This should call up an audio menu on the bluetooth. There was no need to use this menu, however, because soon after it started, the bluetooth was displayed on my Samsung Galaxy S3 as a paired device. Now, it works!

I have had my S3 for 2 weeks and my Sony DR-BT100CX headset/mic has never shown up in scans for bluetooth devices. I see 4-6 other devices in my office, but none of them are headsets, only laptops and phones. This headset works fine with my ipod touch. I tried the above instructions to get it to work, no dice. Also, Pandora has never worked on 3G with multiple uninstalls/installs.

I had that issue with my 2011 Murano, Do you have the new firmware on your phone? I did a factory reset and upgraded my firmware and now it works perfectly. You may just want to try your firmware, i am not sure if the factory reset is needed, I did that to fix crashes on my phone. But either way my phone works better then ever now and pairs when I start my car.

Same issue. I have a 2012 E350 and a 2013 smart, and the phone was easily paired with both of them when I purchased the phone a week ago. Starting Tuesday, the phone will not connect to either car. Connected to both with no issues before, now, nothing.

Software update from Samsung that caused this??

When I try to pair my phone with the truck radio, it asks me for the PIN but doesn't give me a place to put the PIN in. Anyone know a solution for this problem?

I spent ages with a couple of assistants in PC World trying to pair my Samsung Galaxy 3 with a Samsung portable keyboard. One of the assistant's iPhone paired immediately. My 'phone seemed to pick up other connections but not the Samsung keyboard, which you would think would be compatible. The assistants said they had had problems pairing the S3 with other devices.

A day or so later I returned and spoke to a different assistant. He got the 'phone to pair and work with the keyboard by holding down the 'on' key on the keyboard until the scanning process discovered the 'phone. It then worked perfectly!

At home I eagerly tried again to pair my 'phone with a portable keyboard I already have, but it is not possible with this device to hold down the 'on' key. It is either on or off.

I have read that the security of the 'phone makes it incompatible with some bluetooth devices. Does anyone know how to overcome this?

Turn off the Power Saving mode.

Try the following:
1. On your phone turn off the power saving mode go to "Settings > Power saving".
2. Next, turn on the phones bluetooth and power on the headset.
3. If the phone does not see your headset hold down the headset answer button and press the phones scan button.
4. Once the headset or device is paired choose Paired settings and make sure the Call audio is checked.

Default Got mine working...

I had a similar issue pairing my Jabra headset with my Galaxy S3. Turns out the issue was because my Jabra was already paired with my previous phone. I had to force my Jabra into pairing mode and presto, my S3 found it instantly. To force a Jabra into pairing mode, assuming it is turned off, press the universal button to turn it on and keep it pressed until the LED stops flashing and changes to a solid light. Turn on bluetooth on the S3 if off or re-scan if already on and Bob's your uncle.

Angry Nokia doesnt work either

I have a Nokia CK-15W handsfree system fitted in my car - loudspeaker, microphone, screen, remote control - expensive. It has always worked with any Iphone or any other phone. Now my new Samsung Galaxy SIII cant pair at all. Nothing. Tried everything, upgrading, resetting ans so on. Asked Samsung and got the answer that they have changed to a new bluetooth system - maybe I should find another phone because this problem is major. Or maybe Samsung should fix it asap

But it can find a lot of other mobile phones, but not my bluetooth equipment.
So now I know that I should stay with Iphone instead....

"Turn off the Power Saving mode.

Try the following:
1. On your phone turn off the power saving mode go to "Settings > Power saving".
2. Next, turn on the phones bluetooth and power on the headset.
3. If the phone does not see your headset hold down the headset answer button and press the phones scan button.

Yeah -- it works the FIRST time you pair (for most folks) as it did for me. But then, when I come back, it does NOT pair. And the NOT pairing continues until I get fed up, remove the profiles and re-pair again from scratch. This phone has the worst BT pairing record of any smartphone I've ever owned!

BINGO!!!
I have a Samsung WEP460 that was paired with my EVO. I turned it off; turned it on and continued to hold the button until I got a solid light while my phone was scanning for bluetooth devices.
Presto! It finally recognized the WEP460 and paired with it.
Now I'm happy.

Yep I just got the S3 LTE (UK) having had a BB Torch.

Having major issues with bluetooth and email which is really getting on my nerves. No proper push email for Yahoo or my business email - major fail.

Bluetooth: Pairs and works fine with Jabra BT2070 headset. But has issues with Avantalk CK10B. The Avantalk won't connect after it's been turned off after the first pairing so you have to go through the whole pairing process again. Don't have time to do this. Never had this issue with any other phones (BB or Nokia, I don't do iPhone).

I'm wondering if it is something to do with the different bluetooth technologies used. Perhaps the bluetooth on the Avantalk is an older version to what is compatible with the S3.

Apart from those two issues the phone is fantastic.

Default Samsung Galaxy sgs 3 lte

Got similar problem with sgs3 lte bought a month ago from tmobile. Did not realise there was a pairing issue till I bought another sgs3 lte for my wife on Saturday as well as a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
When trying to pair with any of the other devices a permission code comes up but when the OK to input code is pressed you are not able to put the code in.
Spoke to Samsung, in Ireland I think, who say it is a problem with "rSAP" whatever that is.
So looks like I've spent the best part of 1200 on supposed "flagship" devices that can't "talk" to each other.
I apologise for the ramble, but I am a neewbie to these forums and just wanted to vent my spleen.

I had this problem with my Plantronics bluetooth and I found out I needed to hold down the button you press to answer a call on the bluetooth device. Make sure both the bluetooth and bluetooth option on the phone is turned on then press the answer button on the bluetooth until you hear "Pairing" (the little automated voice) then you should see your bluetooth appear as an option on your phone to connect to. Give it try!! :-)

Default Works with Nokia headset too...

"To force a Jabra into pairing mode, assuming it is turned off, press the universal button to turn it on and keep it pressed until the LED stops flashing and changes to a solid light."

I did that with my Nokia monoheadset. Hold the button (the only it have) until the light change the blinking stile. After that I just presed my Galaxy S3 for another search and the headset was there!!!

This helped me. I turned off the power savings (don't know what it has to do with this, don't care). I then turned off bluetooth, and turned it back on. I then turned off the Jabra Talk and turned it back on. I saw it show up, and previously when I had tried to pair it, it told me that it couldn't pair because of an incorrect PIN. (no place provided to type in the pin suggested by Jabra).

It did that this time again, and then I HELD DOWN THE BLUETOOTH ANSWER BUTTON. It then paired and allowed it to connect to phone audio.

The first time i had it paired, it only connected to media audio, and would not allow me to check phone audio. So It was worthless.

Now, however, it's fixed. thanks all!

Does your voice dialing etc. work without WiFi or 3g/4g? I can connect my Jabra Stone 2 and it works as long as I have WiFi or 3g/4g connected. It however does not when these are turned off. Let me know if you would.

Default S3 Pairing Question

I use a Jabra BT135. I recently added a second BT135 (one for vehicle and one for house).
Turn off the Jabra. While your S3 Bluetooth screen is open, hold down on/off button on Jabra. The light should come on and stay solid. Press scan on your S3. This should make the S3 recognize your Jabra.
Good Luck.
